sissyjasmine23 -> Scam by dominant female HELP (3/20/2007 10:09:04 PM)

HELP! I am a new sub on this site and just experienced something horrible.
I met a local female dominant in Michigan through collarme search. I messaged her formally and she gave me her cell phone number to call her. I have spoken with her in how to send the payment and she sounded legitimate. She said to use Western Union to her name and I did in the amount of $300. After the payment she stopped responding to my calls and I never heard from her except for a message saying She doesn't want to see me. I know I've been scammed and wondering what I can do with the information that I have.

Please Help! Thanks
sissyjasmine

Consider it a tuition payment in the School of Life's remedial program.  There's a reason CM puts the following message at the top of the page whenever you read an email:

DO NOT SEND MONEY TO OTHER USERS FOR ANY REASON!
Read about Common Scams for important safety information

Next time, perhaps you should pay attention to that warning.

Now stef that was just mean.  We all make mistakes.

However what stef said was true.  Not said in a good way but true nonetheless.  One thing you can and should do is to learn from your mistake.  Do not send anyone any money ever.  Also don't let this scammer jade you on here.  There are real people here that are truly looking for submissives.  So good luck in your search and I wish you all the best.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I don't know if there's a way to report the person and request that her profile be deactivated.

stef -> RE: Scam by dominant female (3/20/2007 10:31:35 PM)

It was blunt.  Blunt is not mean.

Now, if I had said  "Look you ignorant shmuck, you got exactly what you deserved because you were too fucking stupid to pay attention to the GLARING RED WARNINGS that popped up on the screen whenever you read email," that would have been mean.

Because I know her home address and cell phone number
Do you think I should pursue legal action in a small claim court?

DivaZya -> RE: Scam by dominant female (3/20/2007 10:37:32 PM)

I wonder what was offered for that payment.
I wonder what the police could do with her phone number/ address where you sent the western union money order.
Casually wondering what you are looking for in a local Domme and why that one appealed to you so much.
Hoping you can write it off on your next year's taxes.

dcnovice -> RE: Scam by dominant female (3/20/2007 10:39:47 PM)

If you go to CM's Support page, you can at least report the person.

You might want to talk to a lawyer first and make sure you weren't doing anything illegal by paying her for services (not) rendered.

BeachMystress -> RE: Scam by dominant female (3/20/2007 10:43:43 PM)

Personally, I would talk with the police fraud unit about what your options may be. I'm sorry you had this happen to you. If you do get a positive response from the fraud unit or if you do win a claim against her in court, make sure you notify Collar Me of it. Do so in writing with any proof you have. Until you do that, it is a matter of your word against hers. If you provide CollarMe with the evidence that it isn't just a case of sour grapes, they may delete her account and stop others, at least for a short time, from going through this with this woman. Good luck whatever your choice.

Keeping in mind that free legal advice is worth exactly what you paid for it, you would probably be wasting your time trying to pursue any manner of legal action.  Do you have anything in writing that states the money was payment for goods or services or did she arrange that all over the phone. Unless you have something tangible you can bring before a clerk/magistrate, it's your word against hers and you're unlikely to win any such judgement.

Consider this, you got off light compared to a lot of people out there.  Count your blessings that you had a small "tuition" payment and don't ever send money to anyone ever again.

MsRose -> RE: Scam by dominant female (3/20/2007 10:55:01 PM)

I'm curious as to what it was you were paying for and why you paid without any knowledge of the woman's motives, intentions. I'm not sure where my sympathy should lay. As others have mentioned, there is a cursory warning to not send money to other users, so why did you ignore this warning?

BradleytheKajiru -> RE: Scam by dominant female (3/20/2007 11:00:50 PM)

Wow.  =[  I feel really bad for you!  I know a less than symbol and a three won't make up for losing 300 bucks, but here you go anyway!  <3

And some advice.  Consider it brainfood.  If someone wants to make money off of what YOU love and feel so strongly about, they're not  a very good person.  I'm very passionate, and I've considered an option for you.  Report her.  When she says she doesn't know you, supply the western union money order stub or receipt.  That'll change her tune.  Don't supply the stub before she says she doesn't know you, though.  But I only suggest this if you're embittered by your experience.  Another <3 for you.

dcnovice -> RE: Scam by dominant female (3/20/2007 11:03:25 PM)

What does <3 mean?

sissyjasmine23 -> RE: Scam by dominant female (3/20/2007 11:05:30 PM)

I have been seeking a professional BDSM session and nothing sexual.

The warning that hangs above messages have been a recent addition to collarme in the last few weeks. This fraud has been going on much before the warnings and before scams were becoming popular on this site. I have noticed the huge debate over tributes and it is a struggle for people on this site. True submissive that are are seeking genuine Dominants are being victims to these games.  As  Dominants struggle to seek non players...we too struggle with finding professional or lifestyle that border the non/tribute philosophy

stef -> RE: Scam by dominant female (3/20/2007 11:16:57 PM)

That warning has been there for many, many months.  It changed recently to it's current phrasing, but it's been there for a long time.

Termyn8or -> RE: Scam by dominant female (3/20/2007 11:40:48 PM)

Good friend of mine Jim watt had a certain attitude, at first I thought it callous, but then I understood later.

There was a story on the TV about some old geezer got took for most of his money by a 20 year old honey. She was going to marry him.

I can't quote exactly but here goes :

Fuck him, what an idiot.

I queried him if he thought htis type of scamming on her part was OK.

No, but he is a fucking idiot, he is one of those who should have neen left out on the ice to die. If he is this stupid at this age to think this broad is gonna marry him, he deserves what he gets. Guys like this never knew shit, they were pulled up by the bootstraps by our tax dollars, or some program.

Now this is from a guy pushing 60 with girlfriends in their 30s, and each and every one had good things to say about him, even after they broke up and before he died.

So, you are lucky it was $300 and not $30,000. I loaned one supposed friend over a thousand bucks and never got paid back. I have probably $20,000 out in bad loans. But I would never send $300 to a Woman on the internet.

Realistically, I might send money, like for a plane ticket, but it would be arrainged, she gets the plane ticket, not cash. I might send someone cash, like a 20 for gas if they live within 20 dollars worth of gas from here. But that is reasonable.

What's more, all the Women I am corresponding with from CM are working. They don't necessarily drive, but they don't take money.

Now, there is a designated anihilator here, and soon I figure your sweetie will not get on CM again, probably never from the same IP.

Please try to have a brain around here, what did you pay to get in ? See when people get in for free you never know who they are.

What's more with your particular situation, she might now have even done it from home. If she calls you and comes over, do not let her touch your computer at all.

Welcome to life my friend. Somebody around here will most likely act to have this scammer removed, but I don't think you are going to see the money back.  If the agreement is that you pay $300 per email from her, she is off scot free.

I once thought of a webpage that would have "please send $10 to PO box XXXX bla bla bla. You see, I didn't say what they were getting. Now according to most law, that nullifies the contract if they get nothing. It is hard to defend against, civilly or criminally, but if I were to send them a pair of dirty socks, I would be untouchable in any venue.

Get it ? Got it ? Good.

seeksfemslave -> RE: Scam by dominant female (3/21/2007 2:11:50 AM)

Well I'm shocked, didn't know women could do such nasty things. I expect "she" was really "he" so you could say you got off lightly. lol....surely you were just a little suspicious when being asked for money before meeting ?

Aren't "dommes"  easy to find. Its finding "subbes" thats difficult.
I mean those who are in it for "fun", not who want give up their heart mind soul and body.....YUK.
