we love our neighbourhood because..... of the noisy seagulls that crap everywhere and our wonderful 'considerate' neighbours that go too fast and make us rock!!! lol
We live on an old fishing boat that we are converting to a houseboat.
We just love it

It was a streeeetch leaving my husband and house that I own on a 1/4 acre in the foothills to come to this small little one bedroom apartment.  What used to be a view of a field of oak trees is now a view of a carport.

BUT.....I'm closer to everything!!  Where it used to take over an hour to get to work, now it's 20 minutes!  Restaurants, shopping, everything is nearby.  And in a small apartment complex like mine, you eventually get to know your neighbors, even if you never meet them.  There's a man - probably in his late 50s - who lives across the way.  We always say hello and exchange morning banter.  Nearly two years here and I still don't know his name.  So I call him Frank, in my head.  Frank is a really nice guy!

It's all about outlook anyway, isn't it?  I was miserable in my dream house, and happy as ever being "Frank's" neighbor, lol.

I love my neighbors because they decide to have an all out fight on MY front lawn at 4 am in the morning. As close as I can figure they were talking about divorce and arguing who would get custody of the truck up on blocks in the driveway.

It's on a cul-de-sac so there isn't much traffic. No huge parties or rowdies. The folks across the street have a bumpersticker collection that seems really cool. "God, save us from your followers" "God was my co-pilot til we crashed in the mountains and I had to eat him"...etc....

.....thanks to them I 'm always aware of new Oriental songs, and i can be assured to go to bed almost every week end  with a party on my ceiling (they listened to much to Lionel Ritchie)
