GENERALLY speaking, European wines are named for Real Estate (Bordeaux and Champagne are places!)…and American wines are named for grape varities. For that reason…your poll ‘might’ be redundant… European wines are generally blended varities, too; so Bordeaux IS: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and perhaps 4-5 other deep, dark red grapes. Having been a beer brewer, I’ve also brewed a few meads; which are just fermented honey. I included my organic raspberries and let it go long enough that the honey fell out and I was left with a rather dry, fizzy picnic wine…but deadly alcoholic! Yup, it was good, too! bear
