ORIGINAL: caitlyn Greetings Bull (insert proper Gorean opening) It may well be that powerful Republicans are pulling strings behind the scenes, to position for the next election. The same may be true for the Democrats. Looking at this vote that just passed, establishing a timetable for withdrawl ... that just has to be pretty questionable, from the point of view of the military. I would imagine that a lot of people voted for it, because they knew that it probably won't make it out of the Senate, and on the odd chance that it does, President Bush will undoubtedly veto it. cc Of course it will be vetoed and wont become reality. What it will do is force everybody in both houses of Congress and the White House to stand up and be counted as to their position on the war. If the war goes wrong (I am being nice using the word "if" but I dont really want to upset the True Believers in Democratizing Mesopotamia) all of these people will face questions as to why they supported the war when they are up for reelection. Gore never supported the war in Iraq, Clinton and Obama did. If it ever goes to being debated, guess who comes off looking like a rose. Sinergy
