Well, I for one, do not think that a search option is going to cut down on the specifically unwanted mail. I deal with it every day, and I have been very specific.
I am also on alt and Bcom. I haven't bothered to take My profiles off, but, in spite of the excess mail I may get here, much of it nothing that will ever work out, I get way more on the other sites. And it is ruder and more sexually suggestive, too.
I believe that many of the Ladies on this site are seeking true LTR relationships involving TPE. Some are looking for casual play, and/or play partners, others indicate that they are open to chat and friendships. But the largest percentage of folks on the other two best known sites are definitely seeking just play or cyber. They have turned into kink hook-up sites, and if that is what they want, good for them!
Is it too much to ask one to simply take a few moments to read?

I would rather see a well thought out profile with some substance and some good parameters, than read the ones that pop up saying "hi there, I'm a 24 yr old SWM looking for some kinky fun. I am very good at oral, and love to serve a lady. I'm cute and have a real nice bod. So if you want some hot times, drop me a line." I do look at profiles when new ones pop up on My Admirer's list. And, trust Me, when I say that what I just wrote is very typical of alot that I see. Should I complain? Hell, no! I just smile and move on!
This is really bothering you, isnt' it? I find Myself wondering why? No one is forcing you to be here. At this point I have to ask: Why do you always post so negatively?
I do My best not to be rude to anyone who writes to Me. But they come at Me from so many different directions, and so obviously from the wrong viewpoint of this lifestyle (for Me) that is does get hard. So maybe My profile is one of the ones you are complaining about. I don't know! If you construe it to be negative, that is your right. I wrote it that way to try to make My requirements and My lifestyle views as crystal clear as possible. We write what We write to try to find what We are looking for. Maybe We are indirectly complaining about the inappropriate email We receive so much of, by stating such parameters in Our profiles, but I don't see any Dominas on here complaining about the shoddy profiles We see so much of, unless it is in answer on the message boards to another whiney sub who wants to know why he can't get anyone to pay attention to him. Why would a boy waste his time writing to Me if he obviously is not what I am looking for? And I must not be what he is looking for either, but the hits just keep on comin'!!

I am not ashamed of my income or of what I do for a living, it's putting me through school isn't it? I own a car, have a roof over my head and can afford food. I think I'm doing pretty good.

Though I'm new to CM my vote on a pay site would be no. Personally, I don't subscribe to pay sites (with one exception) as there are usually enough excellent free communities such as this one available if a person looks a little.

Me, I'll take the bad with the good. I'll take all the imperfections, for this being free. Yes I agree with the no pay, no complain mentality. True I get more mail than I can read, and most of it from losers, but I don't post that poison in my profile.

But people need to do the right thing and kick in their cash for this site. I paid. You should pay to. Yes you, don't look at me like that. just do it.

I want it to stay free as well because I like this community approach and I like the fact that it's accessible to everyone.

I hope they accept your offer to volunteer. I have offered my services a few times with both technical support and moderator support and both times I was told "someone will get back to you" and no one ever did.

Status: offline 		Myself I wouldnt care if it was a pay site or not as money is not an issue. However I do understand that for some it is. The rest of this persons rants are just incorrect and the attitude might explain why they are alone and looking.
If any of the referance to "dommes profiles" had to do with messages posted the last few days, this is nonesense. The thread was why some dommes dont reply, not about their profiles. Discussion ensued and explainations were offered. I would point out this persons message and lack of respect is THE reason many of us dont.

Status: offline 		OceanSlave, You say you are a financial planner, are you a CPA and have your degree in Accounting? Anyone can hold themselves out as financial planners without having to pay for continuing ed and pay for their certification, membership in state societies and other fees levelled by the state and of course the AICPA. Enough for asking about your personal qualifications. I was on ALT when it first started and was basically a free site like this one. I never paid for a membership because a) they automatically charge your credit card every month and b) they keep takung away what they say is free and charging for it. As for the latter, is this because people are not paying to be on their site or are they just greedy? Eitherway, once you start having to pay for part of a site, as can be seen from them, it all becomes a pay site and nobody who dies not wish to pay can join and get anything from them.

There's already been a thread about why collar me should be a pay site and over half the people myself included said they would not come here if you had to pay.

Status: offline 		I also notice on pay sites people are expecting results for the money they shell out, which is all good fine and expected. HOWEVER It can engender bitter feelings or make someone feel like such a site is a rip off if it does not produce the results they are PAYING to FIND

Status: offline 		If this were a pay site i never would have registered here in the first place, because i didn't have a credit card to pay with. When i first set up a profile here last December i was unowned for the first time in years, i was basically homeless, i was staying with a girlfriend, using her old laptop and her phone line, and i had some cash (quite a lot actually) as a "severance package" from the owner who had just released me, but i still had no checking account, no credit cards, no permanent address, no recent credit history, not even a current driver's license (it had expired). i had never heard of PayPal. i could have sent cash or maybe a money order, but i would have been too scared to put my girlfriend's address on the envelope...

Now of course everything is different. i am securely owned and cared for by men for whom money is not at all an issue, though i still don't personally have or need a credit card or a checking account (i do have a new driver's license, and the photo is even pretty good). Whatever the cost of membership here might eventually be, if it goes that way, it wouldn't be an issue -- but my owners' privacy is, and my privacy is part of their privacy. They are very suspicious of "any online payment system being vulnerable to snooping and identity theft and outing, especially where the private sex lives of thousands of people are involved and would be tempting bait for anyone with the expertise to hack into the system." i personally know next to nothing about what i just said, i'm just quoting them, but i have been informed that if CollarMe goes to a pay site i will probably be required to withdraw from it for reasons of privacy. (If i want to stay online to rant and ramble and gossip and talk about sex and slavery and loving my owners [what else do i ever talk about?] they suggest i might keep a journal on one of the free blog sites...)

It does seem to me that another option for supporting CollarMe might be to sell advertising space. i know, i know, one of the things i love about this site is that it's blessedly ad-free. But i do look at other sites that have tons of ads, and they really do become invisible after a while -- bad for the advertisers, i guess, but less intrusive than they seem at first glance. (As long as they're not pop-ups! i hate pop-ups!) Would ads drive everyone nuts here? What do you all think?
