Understandable.  Was just trying to illustrate that it's not like a woman can jam a 15" x 20" in her out of the blue like that.

Unless I misunderstood something, which is entirely possible.

As a builder of interesting items, my theme is to use only native Texas woods. I guess someone could use them for insertable but that is an easy remedy also, just put a condom on a good piece of wood.

Osage Orange
Mesquite
Black Walnut
etc.

2 cents from the newbie...

I'd stay away from nut woods, i.e walnut, hickory, and the like.

Nut allergies are pretty common, and contact with the wood from a nut tree transmits the same antigens as contact with the nuts themselves.

and no, I'm not a doctor, I just want to PLAY doctor.

I understand that having foreign objects inserted into the vagina/cervix isn't everyones cup of tea and that maybe you do not understand why this is done.  However, the same question could be asked how anyone may enjoy the use of medical instruments inserted, or even fisting - which certainly is more than 4-6 inches.  But not all insertion is about the 'feeling' - for some people it can be the mere idea of having something inserted, or the idea of control that they do not have when something other than a penis is inserted.  It isn't all about the sensation itself just as BDSM isn't all about sex for some people.

You are also assuming automatically that a wooden dildo or phallic object would be used for insertion.  Again, not all people would purchase such an exquisite piece of artwork for sexual endeavours.  I know I certainly enjoy the visual artwork of some of the more individual blown glass dildos that are available.  I do not automatically think - oh a glass dildo, I think - oh look at the colours and the shapes and how it feels to hold and caress, but then I am a bit of a freak when it comes to sensation work and play...

I seriously doubt that touching nutwoods transmits in any meaningful way the same allergens in the same way as eating the nuts.  Sorry, unless you can provide some documentation on this one I am going to have to call MYTH on that.

Touching it with your hand....prolly fine. But placing it into intimate (in all meanings of the word) contact with a mucus membrane, really seems like a bad idea, if safety is your first goal. Now, am I saying a walnut dildo is going to be a killer anaphalixis wand? Of course I'm not. But if your goal is to minimize risk, it just seems like a good idea. All of this is rendered moot by a decent medical grade sealant, or, ya know, a twenty cent condom.
