I think you're lucky; you must get to meet more than your share of interesting folks. Sure, some of the weirdos will be too weird for your tastes, but others will be real characters and entertaining as hell.

I don't meet enough weirdos. Most folks bore me to tears, so I treasure the few weirdos I do know.

To be honest I thought it would have more of a "wtf?" thing. And people would be repelled by the whole virginal thing. I misjudged. haha

My best friend and her husband went to a costume party wearing conservative 50's clothes and carrying a pair of cleavers. "We're Ward and June Cleaver," they would announce, pulling a mannikin head dripping with fake blood out of a plastic bag, "and this is the Beaver!"

The whole thing reminds me of Evan Dorkin's 'Murder Family.'

Funny couple. Devout Presbyterians, too, and virgins until they were married.

I'm 40. I do find the fantasy of dating someone younger appealing, although the reality usually less so. Women in their 30's and 40's tend to have common cultural references with me and be at similar stages of emotional development. I've also been lucky enough to have had some relationships with women 10 years older than I, and two women at my synagogue I have the hots for are probably in their late 50's or early 60's.

I want 'am all!

Don't worry.. at 35 I started getting mail from 18-25 year old guys wanting an "older woman" with "experience." Unless you're planning on a life paring or actually holding a conversation with them (way to disparate life experience and interests usually), the 18 year old male with the stamina and sex drive of a rabbit doesn't sound all that bad.. *innocent smile*

Course there are weirdo's here what do you expect? Most people would consider BDSM 'weird' so by their definition we are all weird anyways!!

Now if we could just get back to siamsa24 and her amazing ability to quote from Star Wars....god that would turn me on...please please please send me a mail

Cheers

Strangly enough, I get that reaction a lot, I don't know why........
All I have to do is wear one of my Star Wars teeshirts to a bar and I'm set for drinks for the night, I just don't get it. I wonder what would happen if any of them ever saw my full Star Wars collection (well over 100 pieces, some from as far back as the 80's)

Seriously? You don't meet enough weirdos? Wow.. you must have some really HIGH standards for what constitutes wierd.

I don't find weirdos they find me. Course most won't tell you right away they're weird, you gotta wait a bit... And then.. oh boy oh boy.. (some of these are real dear friends of mine as well)

Course that could be just me.. as I was raised in a sheltered style most of my life, so I find lots of things wierd.

Like I find it weird if people believe they are not human. Hard to wrap my mind around that belief.

People that see you once as you pass by on the street and then stalk you psychotically for the rest of your life.

Adults with imaginary friends. Ok.. in all fairness, just because I can't see them doesn't mean they're not real right?

People who will only walk on your left, not your right side or vice versa.. (actually see the post on Odd Propensities..)

Etc.. and so on..

OK........so we're in a lifestyle that general society (poor under informed narrowminded people) considers wierd and strange to begin with. So......by general societies standards we're ALL wierdo magnets, some of us a whole lot wierder than others (and on occasion very dangerous.......hence the safty call). I've found that alternative lifestyles of any kind attract strange people, in S/M and D/s it seems to attract abusive people masquarading as Dom(me)s looking for people they see(allbeit wrongly) as willing victims of their abuse(grow up,seek therapy and get a life), on the opposite side of the spectrim it attracts people who feel as though they are worthless and wish to be treated like shit as a form of punishment for what they percive as their less than human standing in life (ummmm.........that's not what D/s or S/M is all about last time I checked).
I haven't gotten any mail from anyone I deem "wierd" from this sight myself. Quite the contrary. The people I've met have been very helpful to me and have helped me to gain a better insight into the lifestyle and the people in it.

This is a bit off topic, but I have issues with assuming that people that aren't into BDSM are "poor, under informed and/or narrowminded." What about the people that simply don't like it? Or it's against their faith and their faith is stronger? Or they just aren't interested? You are assuming that everyone, no matter what, if they were open-minded and informed of BDSM that they would want to participate in it and would enjoy it and I feel that is incorrect. Everyone has their own things that they enjoy and not everyone enjoys the same things, that's what makes this world a fun place to be.

I have plenty of friends that are educated and not narrowminded who know what I do and just don't really have an interest in pursuing it. Not everyone that isn't into BDSM has a stigma about it.

The problem is that some people only have media perceptions of what BDSM is about, or they see a bunch of freaks on Jerry Springer and think people who engage in that are misfits of society.

It's also not a problem if your friends/outer circles/associates already know you and respect you and never considered you to be putting your lifestyle choices in their face (like bringing someone on a leash to a vanilla party, for example).

I find that the amount of respect/acceptance I get from someone who finds out I am kinky generally relates to the amount of respect and acceptance that I have from them already.

Just wait til your 40. I have found that as I age my libido just increases (wonder if other women have had the same observation???). I have always been kind of on the high end of the libido department anyway and have always wanted sex on a daily basis, but as I have aged I have found that I just can't seem to get enough of it. Three or four times a day is not unreasonable is it?

As for being a weirdo magnet, I have always said that I have been blessed with the ability to attract the one weirdo in a room of 500 really "normal" men. One night I went out with the girls after work, there were 6 of us. In the car on the ride over I made a comment about being a "weirdo magnet". They said they thought it was just my perception.

As we entered the lounge all of my girlfriends walked in before me. I was stopped by a man wearing the largest 10 gallon hat and a belt buckle bigger than my ass. He jumped in front of me and loudly pronounced "Nice threads chickie". My girlfriends giggled but said it was only a coincidence.

As we sat chatting at a table, a man of Middle Eastern descent came over and asked me to dance. Mind you it was very early in the evening and the band had not yet begun to play....no one was dancing. I politely declined explaining that I was just having some fun conversation with my girlfriends. 10 minutes later he was back again. Again I declined. 10 minutes later he came back and said "But I have camels!". My girlfriends broke out in uproarious laughter.

They all now agree and refer to me as the weirdo magnet. They love it when I go out with them though, because it almost guarantees an interesting night!
