ORIGINAL: popeye1250 MzMia, yeah, since WHEN did the people in Washington who WE ARE PAYING get to PICK AND CHOOSE which laws they enforce? They're the hired help and I don't just mean the ones who are elected! I've already wrote to and called my congressman and senators about the border guards, Ramos and Campean as well as that Sherriff Gilberto Hernandez. They should be freed and that no good bastard prosecutor Johnny Sutton should be disbarred and put in jail for 10 years! popeye1250: How about the jury that convicted them would you put them in jail also? It seems that you are somewhat selective in which laws you want enforced. thompson The post have been so silly I wasn't going to comment, but this one struck a nerve.... The jury? I'm sure the jury was only allowed to hear certain facts and were given guidelines on how they could rule, it happens all the time and that is why they were convicted. You appear to be saying that the justice system in our country does not work. Is this something that has been going on for a long time or did it just occure for these cops who were convicted? I thought they had a lawyer defending them. Did I miss something? Those men do not belong in prison, it's ridiculous. I thought they were indited, had a public jury trial, were convicted and sentenced...where else would you put convicted felons except prison? I mean Hernandez was almost run over...but I guess that's ok? He shot out the tires, if he was really trying to hurt someone, wouldn't he have aimed at the windows? It is possible that a trial transcript is available... How is it that someone doing something illegal gets all the perks from a country they are not even a citizen in? Those officers were nothing but collateral damage during campaign time. you have officers hesitating on enforcement, and you are going to have a lot of dead officers. I was not aware that they were convicted of hesitating on enforcement. It's just stupid Are we speaking here of just the convictions you do not agree with or all convictions in U.S. courts? ....and by the way...not really directed at anyone..that movie was about if "all" Mexicans disappeared....not just illegal. Even those that were born here, even those that were half, and as it turned out in the end even those that believed they were in their hearts but was not of decent. I am unclear what this means. thompson I live in Texas, so I guess I'm pretty close to it all...the movie does give something to think about. I work around construction, for the state....and 90% if not more are Hispanic and they are totally legal. So makes me wonder how the roads would get built. When we post jobs, guess who shows? So not seeing that they are taking jobs away from anyone....and again, these people are legal.
