Disgruntled thread starters who don't want people walking off the beaten path of their thread?  No sense wasting energy in opposing something you have absolutely 0 control over

I read a story once (Microcosmic God) which opened with a "quote."

If I can remember it, it went something like as follows.

"Scientists put a monkey into a box and gave him 4 ways to escape.  The monkey found a 5th way out."

The problem with many people who post is that they are giving human beings only 4 ways out of the thread, and then become upset when the people who post find a 5th way out.

I imagine it must be difficult for people who start a thread to prove how smart they think they are and end up getting outsmarted by random people in cyberspace.

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

Is this where we get to talk about OPs who get their panties in a bunch?
*on a sidenote...I was in a bar late Friday night and a guy came out of the mens room totally naked except for his glasses and socks.  He proceeded to run around the bar at a nice little jog and then right back into the mensroom.  Woohoo!  The owner bought him a beer when he came back out.  Now that's a fun Friday night.

I've seen this a number of times so why can't these folks write directly to each other to show how wise and funny they are?

Why can't some folks allow a thread to evolve (or devolve) as it will?

Experimental monkey, given 4 possible exits.   Finds 5th exit.

Scientists grumpy.

or...

Bacteria change, somehow, so penicillin wont kill it any longer.

People dont understand the mechanism, so decide some Intelligent Designer whose name rhymes with Todd planned the whole thing.

Clear as mud?

What Julia said.

Also being one of these thread hijackers you refer to i'd just like apologise and say i have been a bad girl and will never do it again.
If anyone can think of a  fitting punishment for my crimes please fel free to make your suggestion here.

I would suggest thinking of 10 different hijacks to this very thread to show how truly sorry you are

My thanks to all the Simon Cowell wannabees and their thoughtful useful words(you do understand sarcasm don't you?)

The thoughtful useful words expressed was as about as thoughtful and as useful as the OP itself....   And that isn't sarcasm

You get what you give.

Editted to add.... I think this thread should of been moved to random stupidity
