I guess I was just privileged as a child. I grew up having a widely diverse group of friends from varied ethnic groups. I remember my best friend in kindergarten, Maria, was Latino, Anna, a few years later was another best friend, she was Italian and my play group, was of every background imaginable. We played with our dolls, rode bikes together, did each others hair, played dress up. I've never felt uncomfortable around people outside of my ethnic make up and I guess it was mostly due to my upbringing. There was never talk of race around my home, people were people. But don't get me wrong, I've grown to feel the tensions brought on by other peoples discontent; and since my move to where I live now, and reading comments from some on the forums, I've felt it more so than ever before of late. But over all, I'm happy to have known and had the wonderful experiences with people from so many varied backgrounds. My only standing curiosity is what might it be like to candle wax every single part of Brad Pitt.
