http://www.cnn.com/exchange/  this page  has the information about what CNN I reports are.    'SEND AN I-REPORT
Send your photos, videos, comments and more"  ,but it is part of CNN.com .   CNN.net is a blank link.  Perhaps I am wrong, but doubt it.  Julia is right though the PDF is linked to the CNN page.   kind of odd though that CNN is posting an un authored story directly from AP, with such a wierd link on it, they did not even format the PDF properly it.  The truth will be coming out soon.

If you google the article there is much on it from other news orgs.

Thanks for the research Julia, I guess it is real.  US news says the White house floated it, it was not some secret leak.  So I have to say to to Sir Dis, my bad it is real.  But you were falsely describing it as supposed to be hidden, it was purposely released.

Wee! Mixed up cnn.net with cnn.org.
*goes to do some digging*

Well I am not going to dispute what you say, but cnn mirrored the article, so I would wonder why the people that edit the cnn pages would do that.. seems odd that they would link to a fake site

CNN.net is a "fake" domain created to pose as legitimate CNN articles (I believe there is a Fox.net addy, too), for people to either play pranks or to simply "twist" a story. Usually they will mirror a real CNN story, then "add" to it. Run a whois on CNN.net, and you will see it has no affiliation.

Strange.  Whois produces the following results for me:

/u0/reduviidae : whois cnn.net

/u0/reduviidae :

Are you getting something else?  If someone other than Turner Broadcasting had registered cnn.foo, Turner would have ICANN's domain dispute folk yank it away from the squatter so fast it would make their heads spin.

Yeah, now I've dug around a bit.

A couple of months ago, a spree of "cnn" articles apeared on different forums announcing all kinds of odd news. They looked just like CNN's page, except they were .org, instead of .com. At that time, a smile whois check revealed cnn.org was registered to some guy in texas who was playing a prank.

So, when I saw cnn.net in the addy, I assumed it was just another one of those -since CNN almost always links to "cnn.com" (in fact, this is the first time I've seen an off-site referal). So, yeah, I looked it up, and as stef pointed out, the domain is registered to Cable News Network, a subsidiary of Turner Broadcasting.

I guess, Turner got the thing straigthened out. Good thing. Right, now I will actually read it since it is real news [:D]

Well apart from all the fake links others went to I went directly to the CNN site...

I learned along time ago that something about typing the site name in directly avoids spoofs...
