Huh, well that makes sense....I normally just take super doses of B and C and a multi-vitamin to boot.  I'm that happy guy up at 6am (after a 3am bender) cooking eggs and plenty of greasy meat, listening to all of my friends suffer, and offering that sage advice "There, there, it will get better once the pounding stops....care for a nice bacon sandwich? (evil laughter echoes as friends rush for the bathroom)...

I tried to warn them, honestly I did...(weg)

Just last weekend, a friend of mine touted Chaser. I generally avoid over-the-counter medications for quick fixes, but looked at the ingredients of Chaser. Since they appeared to be all natural, I thought I'd give it a try that night when out drinking.

I carefully followed the directions, but it didn't minimize my hangover at all. It actually had the same side-effects that pink bismuth gives me... but I won't get graphic here.

So I'll be going back to my old tried and true method, which has served me well for up to 8 - 10 drinks within a 4-5 hour sitting.

After a light meal accompanied with 12-16 ounces of filtered water, I drink 1.5 ounces of extra virgin olive oil.

Then, when I drink, I always avoid drinking cheap liquor. I also stay with the same drink all night whenever possible, and never use sweetened mixes.

When drinking ceases, I try to drink another 12-16 ounces of filtered water before going to sleep.

I tend to wake up early to urinate after a night of drinking. I rarely have an immediate appetite, and plain water becomes very unappealing to me for some reason. However, I'll take the opportunity to brew a large mug of non-caffeinated, organic ginger tea to which I add 4 teaspoons of honey. Shortly after the tea, I'll drink as much OJ as I can handle without unsettling my stomach... usually somewhere between 6 and 12 ounces.

Then I go back to sleep, typically for 2-3 more hours. When I wake up again, I have an appetite... so I'll eat, and typically have another small OJ. About an hour after eating, I feel about 80-90% recovered... which is pretty darned good for the amount of drinking I'd done the night before.

Fortunately, I can no longer handle more than 10 drinks at a typical 4-5 hour sitting these days at my age, so I'm not getting the level of hangovers that I used to.

Also, as time goes on, I'm finding organic beer more often in bars/pubs. Maybe it's just a placebo effect, but it sure seems to give me less of a hangover.

The fastest cure I've ever had for a massive hangover was a specially-prepared Bloody Mary made with Stoly, and assorted spices and peppers... accompanied with some quality smoke (of which I no longer imbibe). I shit you not... I felt 100% cured within 5 minutes! And that was back when I could handle a great deal more than 10 drinks.

I have a friend who swears by:  B6 & B12 before drinking starts, water while drinking and before going to bed

I had a friend who would get hammered and then start swearing and B4 he went to bed he would usually fuck a fat girl and then drink some water.

I wonder if it's the same guy?

But I really don't see how any of this will be of any use to peewee.

Ha! Now that's the best laugh I've had all day. Too precious!

I have yet to find anything that takes away all the symptoms, but I have found that if you drink some water before you go to bed, the headache the next morning is not too bad.

I know I am almost perfect but it is always possible IMO to know when you have drunk enough and carrying on is likely to produce the hangover.

Having done it once or twice, got a hangover I mean, why continue ?
Just do as I say and your problems will disappear.lol

I remain,
Yours sincerely
Still a regular moderate drinker after too many years to think about.

Whats with all the preventative stuff? If you gotta take something to prevent a hangover it typically means your planning out your night and not having that much fun at all. Just my two cents.

Now, as for killing a hangover, theres my Old Man's way and My way

Old Man's way = Prairie Oyster

My Way: Coke, regular, straight from the bottle, no can, no glass, no ice + one order of blazing hot wings, depending on the resturaunt they may also call them really really hot, or Death incarnate, designed to kick start your stomach while the coke takes care of everything else.

If you cant handle the wings...well, dont let me be around or i'll laugh at you, but you can go to just "hot" level, but no lower then that otherwise there will be no effect.

I've never had a hangover in my life. And before you ask, yes, I've been pretty damaged before. On the ride to Sturgis we stayed one night at a motel that had nothing but other riders in it, spent the evening passing around a bottle of Jack. Scooter spent some time praying to the porcelin God. I just passed out. Next morning, I swear, I was the only one there that felt bright eyed and bushy tailed and Scooter was feeling pretty "rough". Now... imagine your hangover and having to get on a Harley and ride for several hours!! I don't know why, I just don't get hang overs.

if you are less than thirty and don't perform a technicolor yawn while your head is ensconced in the crapper, and if you are older and can get out of bed the next day----

you simply are not drinking enough.

When I was in boy scouts, me and two friends backpacked in steak, lobster, and yukon jack for dinner one night.

I sort of lost contact with extant reality about 10 in the evening, but the pictures of me standing in a comatose stupor while my friends toilet papered me still makes me laugh.
