Please subs and slaves....Dont send one liners because your going to get no where fast. I saw these emails the other day a mIstress friend had received. We laughted at them because the questions would have gotten a one line answer at best.

Look all of us... there are alot more of us than them.You have to express yourself better for a first contact..and a second..and a third.....

Does anybody else feel differntly or have some suggestions for first contacts? Lets put our best foot forward?

I personally, if and when I was searching liked the one liners and short emails...(especially cute ones)

It was just enough to get my attention to read their profile and respond...

If there is some longgggggggggg drawn out email on first initial contact, I tend to get all Adult ADD on it ...

So, just a short...."hello" is a very powerful word and opens many doors.

I don't reply to one-liners. My best suggestions for the newbie sub wanting to contact a Domme are:

1) read Her profile thoroughly and all the way through, and Her journal also, and take notes in the quick note pad thoughtfully provided
2) tell Her what draws you to Her as a person and a Dominant, explaining how what She says She is looking for might fit you--and be sure to quote Her verbatim, so She knows you're not spamming
3) say humbly what you think you might be able to do for Her if She is gracious enough to consider it
4) politely ask Her to respond either yes or no to further contact, and to let you know how She prefers to be addressed

I just tell people who send me one-liners 'Put a little more thought into the message than one sentence, and you might get a more thoughtful response.' If they reply with something more than 'I saw your profile; let's talk,' and it's obvious they are at least -trying-, if they had any questions, I try to answer them in full, and if they tell me about themselves, I will tell them about myself. If they don't respond back, they weren't worth it. I have had many people say 'Wow, I didn't expect such a thought-out response' after actually sending me a good-length message (a paragraph, which is at least 3 sentences), and often the long messages are a reward for their trying again after sending a one-liner. I reward them for trying, and ignore them if they send another one-liner, or don't reply at all.

I find myself mirroring. Its not really intentional. Its just the way it works for me. If someone sends a one-liner, I send one back in return. If someone sends a long letter, I read it and I generally have questions about it so it turns into a more in depth conversation. I haven't really noticed a difference in overall interest level depending on the length of the original email.

For some reason, I tend to end up meeting the one's who aren't so into writing. I think they're more task oriented.

I don't usually reply to one liners unless they show some originality.

Actually there is alot you can start off with..
Read the profile-da..If they write it down, I t should be importain
Maybe ask about something that wasn't clear in their profile
Also, welcome them to collarme as a person they can talk too if they have questions- great for newbies

Wow, a lot of animosity towards short messages.

When I meet a girl in person I usually start with hello (or nice tits, it depends). If she says hello back I start from there. I can’t really blame anyone for trying that here. There should be already a lot of information in a profile so a hello is a simple expression of interest and an invitation to check out my profile to see if they are likewise interested.

With all the creepy rants I see being given I would have thought that something nice yet short would be welcome.

Sometimes people can be a little too self centered and think that they deserve the deepest thoughts and an hour of someone’s time before they have even exchanged the most basic and rudimentary expression of interest.
I tend to start judging the person after the initial first contact. They have my attention, now what are they going to do with it…

i get oodles of the exact same types of emails from dominants. unfortunately one-liner stupidity doesn't restrict itself only to one side of the slash.

generally, my experience with people who send one-liners is that the conversation fizzles out after a few messages if i follow up on the email. the best conversations i've had on here have been with people who at least try to write a paragraph with something in it to let me know that they care about continuing the conversation, have read my profile, aren't sending the same message to fifty other people at once, etc.

(my least favorite one-liner has to be "where in florida are you?" from someone who doesn't even have any information in their profile, period. if i was going to tell you on the first msg, when i don't know anything about you, i would have just put it my profile.)

*sigh* but the real problem is that the one-liner offenders will never read this thread just like they don't bother to read the profiles. Now i never get so many emails that i cannot respond so if i get a "yur gorgeous" i can easily reply "thank you" or when i get the message "i will be in your city next week" i can reply with "excellent, while here be sure to try the shrimp'n'grits, they're delicious"

All I know is, from a friend who wrote me about this after posting here...One liners all pretty much blend in with all the other emails she gets.I am not saying that every email should be 400 words, but saying something to break the ice can really show someone that there is a true interest .

What are some of the best suggestions to have found for starting a conversation with someone new??
