You know I just thought of something...

CBS seems to have an opening for a "voice of authority" now that Imus has been fired. You might want to give it a shot.

Has anyone seen Benjy?

SDFemDom4cuck -> RE: What I find hard to understand. (4/13/2007 3:17:04 PM)

He was around last week on a few threads. Not since.

KnightofMists -> RE: What I find hard to understand. (4/13/2007 3:17:13 PM)

yeah... good point.. he would be on this thread like a dog to a T-Bone with all the meat.

When reading your profile, I saw that you try to dedicate a large amount of your time to help people. If that's true, then wouldn't trying to get a theory you think works out to the public be the right thing to do? To try to prove the theory? Get funding, a grant, or something.

These are two very good reasons.   I mean it.  My suggestion is not for
everyone.  They are primarily for people who can't get past their
past experiences, and feel that by reliving it in such aa way where
this time they are in control, they are sometimes able to chase their
demons away.

Whip...ever get the feeling that the electricity bill hasn't been paid lately?

1.  bdsm is still considered a paraphilia.  People who practice bdsm can lose their jobs, and lose their children.  There is still a great deal of stigma and social opprobium attached to S&M.  I don't know how many drugs you did in your youth, but they seem to have scrambled your brain.

The essential features of a Paraphilia are recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors generally involving 1) nonhuman objects, 2) the suffering or humiliation of oneself or one's partner, or 3) children or other nonconsenting persons that occur over a period of at least 6 months (Criterion A).  ). For some individuals, paraphilic fantasies or stimuli are obligatory for erotic arousal and are always included in sexual activity. In other cases, the paraphilic preferences occur only episodically (e.g., perhaps during periods of stress), whereas at other times the person is able to function sexually without paraphilic fantasies or stimuli. For Pedophilia, Voyeurism, Exhibitionism, and Frotteurism, the diagnosis is made if the person has acted on these urges or the urges or sexual fantasies cause marked distress or interpersonal difficulty. For Sexual Sadism, the diagnosis is made if the person has acted on these urges with a nonconsenting person or the urges, sexual fantasies, or behaviors cause marked distress or interpersonal difficulty. For the remaining Paraphilias, the diagnosis is made if the behavior, sexual urges, or fantasies cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning (Criterion B).  -- First, M. B.  (Ed.).  (2000)  Sexual paraphilia.  In Diagnostic and Statistical Manual – Text Revision.  Washington D.C.  American Psychiatric Association.

This was retrieved March 6, 2007 from an online resource which I removed because it reveals the location of the university I attend.  There are numerous online resources available.  This definition was used for a recent paper in ... gee, a psychology class.  Bolding and italics added for emphasis.

As clearly shown, as generally practiced, bdsm does NOT constitute a clinically diagnosable paraphilia.  The social ramifications mentioned however are sadly quite real.  Can less really be expected when even someone who professes to practice bdsm according to SSC/RACK principles claims to be sick?

 They forget 99.99%
of the stuff they had to learn to get the degree.  Most people

with a license or a degree couldn't get them again if their life
depended on it.

With all due respect..you are a complete idiot. (that really doesn't have the same effect as when it's done in blue). That is not an opinion; it's a fact. Let me explain why....

Truly you have no idea what you're talking about. (This is news?  This guy's a total moron...folks are just now awakening to this?). While it may simply be your opinion...it is a very wrong opinion.

Almost every license ( I can't actually think of any that don't in fact) in the medical fields requires the holder to earn CEU (Continuing Education Units) (Say that again please....I'm confident there are 3 people who don't currently know what CEU's are....particular reference; said person accepted....since it's clear he largely quit reading newspapers in early '83) within a certain time limit of their license expiring. While the boards themselves aren't retaken; they do have to pass whatever testing is required within the CE courses in order to renew the license. There are also competency tests within the CE that must be passed as well in order for one's license to be renewed.

(You're attempting to explain "competency" to the OP?).

For example, I'm studying radiology with a specialty in Nuclear Medicine. I won't be forgetting what I've learned in order to get my license for several reasons.

You're studying Nuclear Medicine...and you're attempting at best, to converse with this nyuk nyuk nyuk?

(I may need to speak to your counselor).

1. I'm going to use that knowledge on a daily basis. Considering my patients will be relying on my use of that knowledge to treat them it's going to be a bit difficult for me to forget 99.99% of what I've learned.

2. Whatever hospital I'm working for won't be allowing me to work for them for long if I don't know what I'm doing. Can you say Malpractice Liability???

3.The Licensing Board isn't going to be letting me get away with forgetting what I've learned because they require me to renew my license on a regular basis. No license = no work

(I can anticipate the crescendo...but there's no point.  You assume comprehension.  You are far too kind to his genus).

4. In order to renew that license I have to pass competency tests that show I know what I'm doing. In other words...I have to prove on a regular basis that I haven't forgotten what I learned. Again, No proof = no license = no work.

Soooo....

Prior to spouting off in regard to people with licenses I would suggest that you research your babblings first then post when you have the correct information. Then again, after reading your various posts, it's more than evident that you are quite accustomed to spouting off without regard to doing any research into what you claim.

"Researching" (on his part)...et al...would require thought.  You assume he has that added capacity.

(You assume a lot).

This is true, Arpig.

My point would be that while he does have the right to post.  He seems unclear on the fact that the rest of us have the right to ridicule, insult, belittle, misread, argue with, etc., what he posts.

I recommend he reads the thread, and then goes and does those things he recommends for people recovering from abuse (in order to chill himself out) before responding to our comments.

Just me, as usual, and I could be wrong.

GoddessTeaze -> RE: What I find hard to understand. (12/3/2007 10:25:01 AM)

How on earth are you able to

A. try to imagine what it's like to be a female
and for B. how it is to be an abused female.

Wwe woman deal different with emotions as Yyou men do.
Wwe come from Venus for a reason, as Yyou come from Mars,
so why to go this path? In try to find an answer in something which isn't solvable in the first place?

I'm female, and I've experianced abuse, as so many of Uus woman, and enough men too. There are serveral stages which people go through, who have been abused. People who think, that they can use Bdsm to get back to other people who hurt them in their life? Are VERY bad people, just mental. I know those are out there, and abuse people, for whatever reason.

I've a sub who is abused that way, because every fruitcake, can call themselves a Dominant, and just do as they please.

Online can be a help to learn to trust people again,  because there is a screen in between them people. But to take out ya frustration on anyone else for any reason, is just so wrong, and not helpfull for anyone.
It won't solve shit.

So know it's not that simple Whipthehip.

I wish Eeveryone a safe Bdsm journey.

Warm Greetings

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: What I find hard to understand. (9/20/2010 11:16:18 AM)

Perhaps becasue we're healthy happy and have moved on. Or if we haven't we don't feel the need to re enact violence against someone , because we're not the type to enjoy inflicting pain on people, or we think it's water under the bridge or not healthy to do so.

I was molested for many, many years,  It started when I was in 4th grade and ended when I was 12 and ended up in me being removed from my home and put into group homes and the system.

I suffered horrible abuse and injustices at the hands of the CPS system, and even after all that I have no great amounts of anger,or really even any pain, nor a  desire to take my pain out onto someone else.

There's nothing to gain in  getting "revenege" If I was constantly seeking to, or even once wanting to enact "revenge", To me it'd be a huge sign I was mightily unhealthy * and note I speak for me only, not an indictment that others with needs for revenge are unhealthy*and needed to step away from kinky play and interactions with other men and get myself into counseling.

Plotting revenge even fake, isn't healthy, or productive nor is it going to lead to me feeling better. My abuse is in my past I have worked on getting over it, and I am fine living with the scars it left.

What is therapeutic to me, after getting counseling to deal with the abuse, is leaving the hurt an the pain an the betrayal of those who molested and abused me my entire childhood IN THE PAST, WHERE IT HAPPENED.

NOT dredging it up again to re enact some kind of revenge and justice on some man who wasn't even the one who hurt me in the first place.

But no matter how many times any one explains this to you, you won't understand so you might as well stop trying to understand and rationalize but if it was me I'd want........ because hopefully it's not you and never will be.

I know some females in the scene were badly mistreated
by some male at some point in their life.   I don't get
why they seem to have little interest in acting out some
kind of role playing revenge fantasy.   Some say they
are afraid of losing control and going too far, but there
could always be a third party present to prevent that
from happening.  I would think that would be theraputic.
Yet, survivors shy away from such a role reversal
dramatization.  I know if I was a female and a victim
of abuse, I know I would to channel my anger onto some
male.
