The only reason I ever view a profile is to see if I hate their profile as much as I do their forum posts or the picture on their avavtar. If you contact me I will kill you.

Yeah, if you post lots or keep an active journal others will view you. I've checked out most of the posters here, no matter what they are.

they look ...i look back sometimes (excluding Dommes and female submissives) just to read the profiles who viewed me. i don't expect anyone to message me though i might get a note or two but if the profile does interest me, i will send a note. knowing that other profiles are viewing mine don't bother me at all - what's posted in my profile and journal is all truth ...i have nothing to hide.

I don't think there's anything here that I agree with.

Handle the section however you want.  View their profiles if you want.  Send them a message if you want.  Ignore them if you want.  If they viewed you and didn't contact you, then that's a fair indicator that they're not interested to making contact with them is probably not going to bear any fruit.

Men waiting for women to make the first contact?   That'll be the day!  If I did that, I'd receive no messages at all.  As a man I have to get out there and initiate contact.  Where do you think your avalanche of messages comes from, and why do you think men don't have a similar pile of poo to sort through?

And as to Doms who participate in the forums, I myself have not been in a relationship for 18 months, so perhaps that makes me special?  Sometimes I really hate being special...

And here I thought you were admiring Me, domiguy!  *LOL*   Dire warning noted and filed for My future safety! 
I glance at this feature once in a while.  I check it mainly when I have received a heartfelt email stating they have read My profile and think we are perfect for each other, yada, yada...  *Smile*  And then they don't even show up on The "Who's viewing me"...
When I see names from the forums, I am well aware that they probably flipped to My profile to get a better look at who the crazy Lady is.  *Shrug*
I would probably be sad if no one ever looked at My profile for some reason or another.  It's just another feature.  Use it as a way to begin a conversation or not.  I don't.

Personally, I contact just about everyone who views me, be they male, female, dominant, submissive because, in the end, making new friends is never a bad thing, either.
 
Sure not everyone's going to be a match. Hell, I'm an ugly bastid who is really only interested in D/s (on this site, that almost makes me persona non grata). So, my not being a match to a good percentage of people is a foregone conclusion.

heck I loved viewing profiles just reading what people say and so on. It had nothing to do about me being interested in the person or not. But now I never view the persons profile, except I've been so lucky that they've viewed my profile. Otherwise I find it uncomfortable because yeah..I don't feel like signing the guestbook everywhere I go[&:] -...hate that button lol

There are definitely other reasons besides a desire to contact for looking at a profile. If I’m getting into a heated debate on the boards I’ll check out the other person’s profile just to get a better idea of who they are. I’ll also check out profiles of women I think are pretty (sub or dom) for no other reason than I’m a guy and I like looking at pictures of pretty women. Just a few moments ago I was checking out mixielicous’ profile because I really liked her new picture. Also, if I’m on the boards and want to get back to the profiles, sometimes I’ll just click somebody’s picture at random.
