definitions vary, but the worst kind are unfailingly destructive and disturbed, pretend to be what they aren't (at first) until they have sucked people into participation, and then take huge and twisted pride in their powers of deception. generally they also eventually have to reveal what they are and what trouble they have caused (a little like hollywood portrayed serial killers leaving clues) to their victims!  once in a while they impersonate others, then sit back and snigger at the mayhem they cause! they also thrive on attention, but wither without, and trading insults just feeds the beast. if discovered, ignore them is the best advice. there are also elemants of a stalking mentality involved. if they arent disruptive and destructive, they aren't really a troll, just someone whose approach you might not like!
