The trick, for most men anyway who enjoy pain, is to make them climax fully, THEN punish them. Many who enjoy pain as a turn on do not want pain in that time right after orgasm. That is the time to give them the belt or whatever You perfer.

I think the more full and correct idea that follows the You cannot punish a masochist with pain is that it can become very confussing when pain is both good and bad in the relationship. When is it punishment and when is it play. If you are trying to explore the realms of masochism and expand the type and level of pain that is enjoyable, then the use of pain for punishment can confuse the masochist sometimes. and most of the confussion will come in reverse of this old joke. Using pain for both will lore often lead to a lessened ability to enjoy pain rather than a tendancy to end up enjoying the punishment. Mindset is often the thing to watch, lots of suggestions to select punishment tools and play toys seperatly and don't let them cross over. But certainly if you want to keep the mental area open to enjoyment of pain as a sexual matter then also using pain for punishment can in many cases lead to confussion.

Hi, I'm a masochist too. Punishment can take many forms. I like the cane, but not when I have to take "20 of the best" without making a sound other than One, thank you Master, Two, thank you Master.... Kneeling in a dark closet, toothpicks between my nipples and the wall, hands bound, blindfolded.....don't let the toothpicks drop....it felt like forever but was really about 4 minutes. I think the only time pain is not effective to punish a masochist is when they "brat" to get a spanking, flogging, caning etc.... If the behavior is manipulative, then the punishment probably needs to not give the submissive what they are trying to get. Silence, a writing assignment, an expected event canceled or modified....all can work well when dealing with a brat. Before someone jumps on the good brat/bad brat debate....I'm a touch smart assed, a bit feisty, spirited...pick your euphemism.....but if Daddy gives me that look or that quiet 'ahem'....well, that's enough to curb my tongue.
