Goths! lol
There's a drugstore somewhat local to here where a lot of those Goths hang out in the parking lot or in front of the store.
Whenever I drive by if they're there I always open my window and yell out real loud; "TRICK OR TREAT!"
Boy they get pissed! lolol

the truth- is i was.   in my 20s i kicked azz.  i had the looks- i used them. i had the brain, i 1/2 used it.

The physical stuff means nothing to me......I've played sports through out my whole life and it just comes easy and natural. Even in my early 40's I can still run the court, not get tired and pull rebounds away from dudes that are twenty five.

I fucked off though in my younger days and partied way too much.....So, there was definitely some very important time lost there. My Dad is by far the smartest guy I know well.....and I wish I would have had maturity level in my younger days to listen to him and learn through the experience of someone ''who's been there done that'' instead of experiencing the school of hard knocks myself.

I'd not worry about living up to others expectations of me and live true to myself.

Ever?  Not even when your weight is healthy and appropriate?

As my dad used to say: "youth is wasted on the young"

Without retaining my current experience... would be as stupid as the next, more or less.

At 24,  I tend to think I still fit that description...I'm young, I'm vigorous for  a chunky chunk, and I'm fairly unobligated (single, no kids, good job, good money, minimal bills).

I often wonder about the other side of things...who would I be if I was older and more mature?

I love being young and unencumbered...I  like being able to do what I want with my wardrobe (my job doesn't allow visible piercings, but I'm free to do my goth things on weekends.)

My money is mine..no mortgage, no kids, etc. If I want to spend a lot of money on my hobbies I can. For example, I need to save approx. 10-12k for a luxury-type thing that I'm wanting. I have to have the money by the end of the year...I like knowing that it's no problem at all for me to save back that kind of cash in that time span. That's something most middle aged people couldn't do because they have more obligations.

I dread a day when I'm encumbered....I've already tried being married (lasted less than a year) and I can't have kids...my property/home will be mine via inheritance so I'm set there...I'm hoping I never have to grow up too much!

I was sitting at lunch today in a very small, very bohemian little pseudo-Mexican ultra cheap and not so bad eatery having a beer.  The young girl (and in fact most of the staff there) is young, unpretentious, obviously unconcerned with material things and to some degree, physical things.  She is not societally acceptable with her many obvious piercings and tattoos, lack of makeup or willingness to succumb to the products and time (or waste there of) to make her look more culturally beautiful... mascara, long hair and the products needed to  maintain it, shiny, bright hued lips and clothes purchased more to sell her body than to clothe it.

Sitting alone amoung gregarious people sometimes sparks strange thoughts and this is what I was thinking of, and still am thinking of....

Who would I be if I were young, vigorous and unobligated?

I do not know that I can even fathom an answer.

Who would you be if you were young, vigorous and unobligated?

Me.

As my dad used to say: "youth is wasted on the young"

i've always thought the opposite... "retirement is wasted on the elderly"

When i was nothin', i was already old... i actually like the "rut" i'm in... i find comfort in routine. Sometimes i wonder if i missed out for having never partied hearty or sown my wild oats, but it was never really an option... if i was 16 or 20 again, and still the person i was then, it still wouldn't be an option... so we carry on, count our blessings, and watch out for pitfalls.

Oh darlin! I have to say your looking good. :) What's your secret hun? I have tried damn near everything out there that's there to try, have been doing the excersizes, changed eating habits and i'm still way past what i'd like. It's not easy shaking down over 100 pounds and it's something I really need to do.

I'd be a dancer or a screen-writer, or a more of an artist, I think. Right now I am unemployed, but had a career for many years in market research, and I do volunteer work I really enjoy. Overall, I am cntent with my life. I actually do have a lot of freedom right now, and few obligations.
