Status: offline 		Maybe they just don't want to read a post from you in 5 or 6 months, telling us how hurt you are, because you invested all this time and feeling into someone who isn't real. From the op, it sounds like you are already deeply attached to this guy, to the point of sitting online watching for him and that can be very dangerous. Especially if you are sensitive or emotional. I tend to be very sceptical of online interactions. It seems much easier to just meet them in the real world, and go from there. On a positive note, I do know people who have met online and been very happy. There is a chance that your dom is being honest and you will be very happy. Stranger things have happened.

I was being WAY overly dramatic last night. The hormones must have been playing tricks with my brain or something, but I'm not NEARLY as obsessed as I came off to be. I didn't sit around all day refreshing the page like a maniac, I did other stuff too. I had classes and I posted on other webforums. Also, I am not in mad insane crazy "Take me right now you animal" love with this guy. I think he's one of the neatest Doms I've ever met, but I'm not going to fling myself at him until I get to know him better. Right now we're interested friends, and nothing more.

Status: offline 		I only talk online when they are too far away to meet, and personally, (this is just me) I have no desire for an online relationship, so if they are in distance, I safely make arrangements to meet them soon.. Easier to get rid of possible whiffs of bs, or at least know everything is accurate.  With only an hour seperating, there is nothing stopping you from meeting for coffee.

Status: offline 		If I was interested in someone who lived that close to me, I would cut thru all the BS and make a date to meet for coffee or lunch. If I really felt there was a mutual attraction and we clicked on many levels, I would rather meet face to face and see if the chemistry was the same in real life.
This is just me, but if I spent months chatting online and waited to meet and we didn't have the same spark, I would be pretty hard on myself for wasting my own time.

In your case, Ellie, it appears from your posts that you have some feelings or emotions developing for this guy. I don't remember who said it, but it goes like this:

Maybe you should actually observe him operating on someone before you get too excited.

Overly energized 18 year old Little Girl attention whore doesnt seem to unusual to me.

I've refrained from saying much of anything because I know I didnt (and still dont) listen to other people regarding women until I got suckered in and suffer threw the hard knock.

She isnt any different as is really anyone around 18. Neive misplaced optistism that Mr. Perfect is more perfect than the last few Mr. Perfects is only corrected with hard knocks.

It took reality giving me a really good sucker punch in the stomach a few years back for me to open my eyes and start thinking objectively with women as opposed to the one track mind of starry eyed "She's so great! She's my One!" (Now I ask for I.D. when it comes to people like Ellie who have been 18 for more than 2 years).

my primary concern when i first read the thread was not that he might be lying to you, but rather that this is something i experience myself (disappointment and upset when i miss a phone call from Him) and we are close-distance, have been together for over a year, etc. and i know that for ME it is not healthy to be that upset about something (and it's something that i work a lot on and am a lot better with now) so for you it seems like it would be an extra unhealthy reaction, considering the circumstances of your friend/relation/whatevership with this guy.

anyway, that was my main concern when i first read this (shortly after you started the thread), not necessarily that he might be lying to you - although the rest of the thread has thrown up a few red flags for me. and i am perhaps a year older than you, so i don't have any particularly age-specific view on this.

just a couple thoughts.
