Status: offline 		Instead of hijacking the thread over in "Ask a sub" I figured I'd start a new thread over here...

What would you give up to own your sub/slave??

Me? I would:
Give up my freedom to chase random bitches
Give up my food to feed her
Give up my spare time to train her and care for her
Look for a better job so I could buy her nicer rewards (same hours worked, I'm just lazy about looking...)
Give up my right to go to play parties (OUCH)
Give up SOME of the time I spend with the whelps and packfriends
Give up my dietary preferences to try the new things she prepared
Give up my right to run alone....

Set down the bong and slowly step away. If you are giving up things to own, you are owned, you surrendered your freedom to exist as the master, so enough said on that. If you have the girl for you, she will enhance your life and not detract from it, stop using the threads to troll for chickies and advertise yourself.

One should NOT give up anything to own a slave.
The slave however does give up "self".
And Why do they do this:
a. The inner desire to be controlled and to submit.
b. To want more in a relationship then just a marriage.
c. To trust and be trusted without reservation.
d. To not have to worry or make choices.
e. To serve

anything else is just "stuff"

Actually I find that most slaves FIND themselves and become MORE of who they are in a fulfilling relationships.

If they are choosing to be owned based on their own inner desires, they aren't they staying true to themselves and actualizing their own selves by choosing to be in a relationship as a slave?

And masters can and do give up a lot to own slaves- it's worse than having a baby in a lot of ways.

Status: offline 		For me, I ONLY want a woman who can enrich and expand my life and I can only do that if I change to except that enrichment and expansion.

I have given up meat, I have left my urban setting to live in deepest darkest suburbia, I have gone to church.

I have never given up my core values but I have seen them mature, grow, and expand because of my involvement with my partners and I would have it no other way.

Status: offline 		I prefer to take the slow approach and find someone who wants what I already have too much of. That way, I'm not giving up anything, and they still get what they want/need. Takes a while, but it can be done.

Much like a responsibile parent sacrifices things for the best interest of their child.

However, if the quality of my life is deteriatoring, something is defiently wrong.

Status: offline 		That doesnt sound liek you are giving up anything to own a slave.  It sounds more like you are settling into a mongamous relationship, Vanillas do this all the time when they pair up.

The only thing I gave up to own Angel were my expectations of what a perfect slave might be. I have found that by giving up what I expected of the fantasy slave I had in mind, the hapier we have been at what has been allowed to grow and develop. So, I would be more than willing to give up my unreasliztic expectations as well as my assumptions about how things should go.
There are other things I gave up after I had him, like my distrust of someone being out of contact for long periods of time.

There are many negative things I have given up to own, and I would do it again.  I have not had to give up anything positive in my life, Angel has been brought into my life to make me happy. I should not have to give up anything I enjoy in order to me a better owner.

It made more sense and was easier than moving her to my country

While I don't know if Valyraen would say he gave up anything to be with me, I would say that if someone wanted to own me, there is one thing they might have to give up. I refuse to be around illegal drugs or have them in my home, so if someone wanted to own me they'd have to stop using entirely. I don't care if my friends use them, but I won't be with someone who does.
