Voicemail rant reheats Alec-Kim feud The festering bad blood between movie-star exes Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger erupted Thursday when an angry phone message from Baldwin to his daughter was made public. On the recording, Baldwin can be heard berating his 11-year-old, Ireland, "You are a rude, thoughtless little pig." "You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being," he says, apparently upset that she did not answer her phone for a planned call. "I don't give a damn that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you're a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care about what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone." He goes on to say that he plans to fly from New York to Los Angeles "for the day just to straighten you out on this issue." The recording was published by celebrity news site TMZ.com, which said that the call was placed on April 11. Baldwin's spokesman said in a statement Thursday that, "in the best interest of the child," the 49-year-old actor "will do what the mother is pathologically incapable of doing ... keeping his mouth shut and obeying the court order. "The mother and her lawyer leaked this sealed material in violation of a court order," the statement continued. "Although Alec acknowledges that he should have used different language in parenting his child, everyone who knows him privately knows what he has been put through for the past six years." "The voice mail speaks for itself," Basinger's spokeswoman said. Calls to Basinger's and Baldwin's attorneys were not returned. Baldwin and Basinger, 53, were married in 1993. They have been involved in prolonged legal disputes over custody and other issues since she filed for divorce in 2001, which was granted in 2002. The couple's differences have been aired several times in public. Basinger was charged with contempt of court in October for violating terms of a 2004 custody agreement. A motion by her lawyers to dismiss the charges was denied Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. I don't need to hear it thank you. I already have. Also, i don't care about their public disputes or who's at fault. That man should not be allow near that child. This is comming from someone who's suffered that type of abuse as a child. Let me tell you, words can hurt harder than any slap, punch or kick and the damage lasts a lot longer.

Neither of them will ever win any prize for parenting. He's bad for saying it, and it looks like she's worse for making it public. How nice that the little girl's friends all know how her daddy treats her.

i heard the tape on Countdown tonight. Regardless of who has done what i feel that kind of anger to a young child is very unnerving. i would take measures to make sure he was never with the child alone. minnetar

Okay, the language is a bit rough. But he can't be the first father ever to get mad when a child fails to do what she was supposed to do. Obviously, the agreement was that the cellphone would be on, and answered, at a certain time and the child reneged on the agreement. People my age didn't have their own phones at her age, but if I had one at that age, I'm sure I'd have been expected to answer when either parent called. I wonder if this whole thing wasn't some kind of 'gaslight' attempt to push the man over the edge. If it was, it obviously worked. There is no question about who 'leaked' it, the only question is what should be done about it. Yelling at a child is a bad thing, even though few parents can honestly say they never have. Violating a court order is an entirely different type of bad thing, which often involves serious ramifications. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, but I feel sorry only for one person in this tragedy.

Alec Balwin is a crazy abusive jerk! He was abusive to Kim in their marriage and especially after their daughter was born and then they divorced. I think Kim was trying to save her daughter from a childhood of abuse just as was shown by Alec recently. I think time has proven that this man loses control of his anger and is abusive quite often, I can just imagine all the chit that has happen to Kim that we haven't heard of. Going against the court order was probably a desparate move on Kim's part as Alec is always trying to prove her "the crazy" one and unfit. I know Kim has anxiety disorders but I think she is far from crazy. I think there should be a restraining order slapped on him to protect both Kim and Ireland! It would probably push him over the edge though and it would not surprise me for him to go crazy enough to possibly kill them both and I think it has had Kim running scared for many years, wish the jerk would leave them a lone. His inability to control his maddness scares me too, I have seen that craziness in my own fathers eyes. He may a good actor but a crazy mean ass-hole human being[sm=evil.gif], IMHO of course[;)]. I hope Kim and Ireland stay safe! Missy.

i agree...my mother was very verbally abusive to me, but at least the whole world didnt know about it....and for the record...that kind of shit hurts for a LONG damn time...you can learn to forgive....but forgetting it the tricky one....
