Perhaps, once she settles in and realizes that this other cat isn't going to go away, she'll calm down a bit. My cat is actually that way--but with children. With older ones, say ages 4 to 10, he's just a ball of fury, with that "This is my place! Get away! You sit in my chair and you'll have claw marks all over you!!" kind of attitude. But when little, little ones are here (like my friend who has a six month old), he noses around her, checks her out, and keeps his distance without hissing, or making any kind of noise. She probably just needs to have some time to adjust and realize that this is a new thing she's around...and eventually she'll grow to love her. Side note: I totally agree with Master Ron--I had a dog, and my neighbors had a dog, and when they would see each other they would go insane and start barking like crazy. They'd nearly run to each other to fight every single time. But somehow...someday--I honestly don't know what happened--they just melted together. And then we couldn't separate them. They had sleepovers at one another's house, shared food, all that. We tried to separate them once, and they wouldn't even come inside--they stayed by the fence whining all night long. So eventually my neighbor just built a gate into the fence so we could leave it open for them. They got two backyards, double the food, and all the attention they wanted. So sometimes fighting in the beginning can lead to an unbelievable friendship in the end. The end. Oh, wait...nevermind. Yeah. The end.
