You could change your nic to "spankmeharder" and show it to him.

If its difficult to speak about this face to face maybe try finding or writing a story that fits your idea of how hard, how many strokes, the tempo and so forth and have him read it. Either tell him its your own writing or make it plain that this type of thing really "moves you" and hope he gets the hint. Good luck.

Hello all. Thanks to everyone for responding. I did talk with my partner and I'm glad I did. He left bruises! And, more importantly, as he is new to topping, had a great time doing it.
