After 15 years, I've drastically changed my hairstyle.  (I cut it short)

Hubby is neutral on it.
Slave  says it "ok" but prefers long hair.

It shouldn't matter what any one thinks.. but I'm wondering if I made the right choice (thank god hair grows)  I felt it was time.  I do plan on letting it grow about two inches and getting more layers so I can be my shaggy self :).
So humor me with your vote and or comments.  Check out my profile.  I have a series of pictures over the past 6 years showing my "looks".  Hairdressers' comments especially welcome :)

Thanks for participating. After awhile, I felt my longhair started making me look "witchy".

You new look is cute, I voted for it.

My Daddy does not desire me to cut my hair, and it is getting so long that I am constantly getting it hooked into things, it gets caught on stuff, or I pin it accidently behind me when I lean back. It is really low maintainence though so I am not going to bitch. I usually just pile it on top of my head

I think its very attractive, and makes you look about 5-10 years younger.
They say long hair can age you at a certain point.
You look marvelous, humm you could even lighten it!

It's difficult to judge the "new doo" without being able to stare down directly at the top of your head.

I think it looks really great and kind of adds more "life" to your face if that makes sense. Its kind of more "active" looking and younger. Very cute.

I am partial to long hair, but in your case you look much better with shorter hair.  The long hair made you look matronly.

Lotus!

Love it. It looks wonderful and really accentuates those I'm so jealous to die for cheekbones. I hope this comes out right but you look at least 5 years younger now than in any of the longer hair photos.

As far as suggestions...I'm not a hairdresser professionally but I do all my friends hair when they want it colored. How about some more depth of color to piece out the layers. Both highlights and some lower color depths. Go both two shades up and two shades down from your natural color. Or try some "pomade" to give it some texture. When/if you get more layers done  (I don't think you need to) but if you do try some more texturized layers or go for a "piecy" look which will make sense to the person at the salon.

SD :)

What isn't clear in the picture is that it does have some strong highlights in it.  More blond in front and darker in back.  I'm still getting it "trained"    I use a root lifter at the crown at present but I agree, it can use some more texture.  I'll get a more defined pic showing it, if I can.  The web cam is  doin' it's best :) LOL

(P.S. Tombstone visit was a bust!  No ghosties I could pick up on.  I think I was looking too hard)

Well, let me ask you this....Are YOU happy with it. The answer will tell you what you need to do.

As for my opinion on it...I like it. Makes you look younger, highlights those pretty cheekbones and just generally makes you look more beautiful.

Pretty much.. but there is something that just isn't "right" yet and I'm trying to figure out what it is.  I have a tendency to "over style" my hair.

I like your new hair style.  It's cute....although I can not say if it is the hair do or the beaming glow on your face that gives the more youthful look.

I've contemplated cutting my now butt length hair thinking at 47 maybe I am too old for this.

I know other's go through this also.   What started it was a 57 yr old female freind who showed up one day with a short blond wig and she looked GREAT!  She had always had long red hair. She eventually cut it to the style of the wig.  I borrowed the wig and tried it for awhile.  I liked it :)  I bought a wig for myself THEN I cut my hair (just in case I didnt like it).  (I'll put a picture of  me in the wig soon)

Again, thanks to all who are responding.
