i've got great news! i was collared last night and i'm very happy about it. the collar itself is extemely pretty...it's a rhinestone number that's really...erm...blingy. Looks great in pictures and on me, but am i really supposed to wear it 24/7?

Now, i'm not concerned about people outside of the lifestyle realizing what it means- really, i could care less. my main issue is, is that i'm a real t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. The collar, although beautiful, is a tad flashy for everyday wear.

Here's what i'd like to know: how many slaves out there wear their collars all the time and does it mean that i'm ungrateful or seem ashamed if i don't?

Really, it is Your Master who you should be asking, IMO. You belong to Him, voice your thoughts and He will decide.

If You want to know what others do, then I can answer that for myself, being married, I have a ring which I wear. I also have an 'DemonAngel' symbol I wear that Demon bought me. I wear that continuously, but then, its silver and on a leather thong so it isn't 'flashy' and fits with everyday wear. I also have 3 larger collars I wear, but those are for different occasions when Demon sees fit. One pure metal, middle age design, one leather and metal stud, and one large restraining D-ring collar. Some people have no desire to wear a collar, so again I would say, ask your Master.

Most that I know, do. But then again, it's usually something more conservative.

Perhaps you should speak to you Master.

Yes, I too say, discuss this with your Master.
Maybe your can have this one be a special
one worn on special occasions and get a more
subdued one to wear in out and around casually.

Congratulations!!! Many subs have something more discreet than a collar to wear in public, but like the others have said that is up to your dom. Any chance we can see a picture of it?

i have several collars, and which one i wear any given day or night is entirely my masters' choice, but i am nearly always required to wear one. Some are pretty unobtrusive, some are indistinguishable from very elegant choker necklaces, and some simply scream SLAVE! i am required to wear a collar when naked, no exceptions, and if i'm wearing something like a turtleneck i always have a collar on underneath it. But... Once in a while they take me out for the evening uncollared, with my hair up, in something backless and off-the-shoulder that dramatically reveals my bare throat, and it's amazing how naked i feel now without a collar! (That's the whole idea, of course, the rascals, making me feel completely naked even though i'm all dressed up...) Two of my collars are semi-permanent; they can't be removed by me, at least not without help. i love the feeling that my collar is around my neck for life until/unless they decide to take it off. And they're considering installing a permanent collar on me that can't be removed at all, short of a bolt cutter or a guillotine... They find this idea very sexy (metoometoometoo!), but they also like having the freedom to change my collar to fit the occasion or their mood, so the jury is still out on the permanent collar...

Congratulations! But about the wear it all the time thing, ask your Master. The two of you will know what is right for you. An alternative you might consider is a simple anklet of some sort that never comes off.

The first collar that my owner put on my neck was thick, leather, ringed, beautiful and very obvious. It had small name-plates. One had my name and the other said that I was his property. It is black so it goes with everything and there is enough room beneath hit for him to curl his fingers around it and drag me wherever he wants me. *grin* Usually I wear a heart-shaped tag on it that says "Cav's girl" but sometimes its just the collar.

Anyway, I love knowing that it is always there, feeling it while I sleep, etc. I really do hope that it never has to come off again.

As for you being ungrateful, I suppose it would only mean that you were ungrateful if you actually were ungrateful *grins* and it certainly doesn't sound like you are. Like everyone said, your best bet is to talk to him about it.

Dear Ginger21,

That is for your master to decide sweetie... If you are a 24/7, that means all the time. You really need to discuss this in the nicest way possible. May I suggest after his favorite "special" task for you? My master expects me to wear my collar at appropriate times, but not all the time! (Like when you take a bath or shower, unless with your master.)

I wear it when master comes home and he lets me know his mood by what comes next... If he attaches the leach, I'm in trouble. If he removes it, kisses and another kind of trouble follow, but that's OK.

Congrats.

It would depend on your Master's wishes. If you've concerns, then you might want to talk to him about them.

What some people agree upon is an different form of collar for different situations. For someone in a formal work attire, say at a bank, a collar wouldn't always be ok to wear, but yet a simple necklace or choker might.
Some might wear a special ring or bracelet as well when out in public situations.

Again, this is something you can talk to your Master about and perhaps come up with something you both agree upon.

this sounds like something you should have discussed with Master prior to fixing it around your neck, your best advice has been given here several times already--talk to HIM about His feelings regarding the matter.

i asked Him if it's be okay for me to have more than one collar, and He said yes, as long as i present it as a gift to Him. He will, as He should, have the final yay or nay about it.

That is LOVELY! (both Ally and Ginger. I dig collar pictures)

I'd probably ask what is expected, like everyone else says. I wear my chain/lock thing all the time, but I have pretty, dressy stuff for other occations. I wouldn't like to wear my leather stuff every day, but it means a lot to wear his mark all the time.

(We went to an SCA event this weekend, and my collar came off...'cause...well, it's inauthentic. Still, I felt like I had forgotten my panties, or something.)

Wow, thats a lovely collar, thanks for sharing! And congratulations too!

It really is between you and your Master - I have to wear mine all the time, but now and then I'm given permission to take it off for situations where it wouldn't be appropiate (e.g, job interviews, or situations where it doesn't go well enough with my outfit to pass off as an accessory). I really like wearing a collar 24/7, it gives me a real sense of being owned, and my throat feels naked without it. It's anice physical reminder, you can reach up and touch it, and it tells you again, you are HIS. When he gets a steel collar for me, I expect I'll wear that all the time, it's more discreet than leather.

Well when I was first into all this and with my first master, I was in college, so it didn't matter what I wore. I was able to wear a very blatant black leather collar with an O-ring in the front and a dog tag.

As time went on, this wasn't appropriate for all situations, specially when I graduated, so I was given a silver chain to wear at all times.

In my relationship with the Owner now, I wear the collar when I am with him, but that's about it. He doesn't require it any other time and I like knowing we're connected without a symbol, though the collar does mean a lot to me (He took me to Petsmart and let me pick it out all by myself!). He does intend to brand me at some point however.

But, since we started...I want to see pics of everyone with their collar/symbol of relationship!
