not trying to get into a sub vs. slave argument here at all, i don't feel one is better than the other, at all...

I forgot to mention, I saw somebody else post something similar in this thread... it is so refreshing to see people say that. The last chat forum I frequented was full of girls calling themselves "slaves" who looked down on the girls they called "subbies" or "subbie brats". The men were equally as bad, voicing loudly or implying loudly, about how there was at least ONE TRUE SLAVE in the room (ie, their own).

There is some intolerance here still... but I am so glad to see it's nothing so bad as it could be.

[over-dramatic sob and leaping into everbodys arms] I love you guys!!

lol...yeah, i use to see a lot of that b/s in chat rooms...at least the ones i use to frequent were that way, which is why i got so fed up with that nonsense i stopped chatting and prefer the boards now.

i love this board because eventhough there are those (myself included) who rant from time to time and argue their point until their fingers are blue, i find that the people on this site are pretty down to earth and real, i agree, it is very refreshing.

Hi everybody, i come in peace! Gee, we slaves/subs/whatever really are passionate about this life we share, aren't we? i know i am, i get overexcited easily, and i just wanted to unrant in case i stepped on anyones' feelings earlier when i was ranting. My master Michelangelo says listening to willing slaves talk about their unfreedom is exactly like listening to unwilling slaves talk about freedom -- that in each case we know in our hearts the life we were born to live, we know how hard it can be for us to get there, if we ever do, and when we get our arms around even a little piece of the life we love and that we were meant for, we'll die before we let it go... It's no wonder we get overheated on this subject sometimes, for a lot of us this is life itself we're talking about. So please forgive me when i get overheated too. i really feel so irrationally warm and fuzzy about everyone here at CollarMe, i love being allowed to sound off here among friends who understand this life, and i really wish everyone here the very best in your lives, whatever we call ourselves, whatever rules we live under and whoever we may serve -- so, golly, hugs and kisses all around -- *sniff* -- pass the tissues, please, and now we can go back to getting all hot and bothered again... love, ravenna

Hugs back atcha, kiddo!! I come to CM for the warm and fuzzies as well as the heated debates, too......*smile*

As there is at least some balance to it, it's pretty cool, in my humble opinion anyway.

Blessed be,

harmony

The comedian Gallagher once observed "if you are in a relationship and want to see who is in charge, just see who gets out of bed to attend to a dripping faucet, the one still in bed, that's the one who is in charge" The slave/submissive by surrendering the "cognitive heavy lifting" to the Domme/Dom/DumbAss is in charge, even with an aching rear end and muscle cramps, they have put the onus of the relationship on the shoulders of the "industrious" member. As the most obvious example of operant conditioning, BDSM is at its heart a shifting of the load from one partner to the other, and all this chat aside, the one enduring the submission is contolling the action. Observe how you as a Domme/Dom/DA act when faced with misunderstood directions, you don't get a Sub to do what you WANT, you get them to do WHAT YOU TELL THEM. The Subs all say they "don't want control" but in fact the Bottom always has the upper hand. (You just try to explain the forensic photos in your trial and you'll see real clear how much control you never had). What we have here is theater of the absurd, two actors playing for two observers, for a total of two people in all.

So if the DA says, "Get your lazy ass up 'n outta this bed an' turn off the (bleeping) water." And, if the water gets turned off per that directive, who is in charge?

Maybe i'm missing something, but it seems to me here you've merely stated as fact what you believe, and haven't backed it up with any examples? Or no examples that are clear (to me). Would appreciate if you made your points clearer, so that I could argue them or agree with them.
