Do submissives inspire Dominants? (Full Version)

I read posts all of the time about how a good Dominant inspires submission, but does it work the other way around?
 
A real life example...My Daddy has a good job at crappy company, so I've been pushing for Him to change companies. Now, He's getting into the swing of things and really become more happy with the state of His career, as a whole.
 
I guess, it just goes against the grain that a Dominant is supposed to be this pillar of strength and wisdom...but, in the end, they're just people.
 
So, Dominants, does your submissive inspire you? And, submissives, have you ever found yourself inspiring your Dominant?

Yes. 

I only really truly come alive when inspired.

I suppose, I've been thinking about this a lot, because I am always on the move. I've always got a goal. It's just me.
 
The other day, Daddy looking at me and I said, "Whatcha lookin' at?"
 
He said, "I'm watching you change the world." Hmmmm....

M says that I inspire him.
I am instinctively empathic and generous, and he says that my ability to give my heart amazes and inspires him.
He has also said that he is inspired by my strength and endurance in dealing with my mental illness(es).

I have been inspired by submissives of mine to write, to learn new skills (ones they had but I had never taken up), to challenge myself, and to broaden my horizons.

In my personal opinion each should inspire the other.  My submissives inspire to me to broaden my knowledge not just in lifestyle things but in things in general.  Thanks to the inspiration and encourgament of My boy I have lost six pounds in the last month.  he never gave up when I felt like I didn't want to walk he encouraged me.  When I said I wanted to try yoga he didn't laugh or make me feel stupid he said go for it Mistress.  So yeah I would say that submissives at least good ones inspire their Dominants.

it's my sincerest hope that i inspire my Master somehow. if  love, admiration, and respect can inspire then i'm thinking i do.

I guess I just read so much about Dominants inspiring submissives, that this has been on my mind a bit. You just never hear it the other way aroud, however, I know that in most healthy relationships this is the case. It's nice to hear from others that feel the same way.
 
Sometimes feeling a certain way and hearing others agree just feels right, somehow. Okay, and now I have to give up the computer to my inspired Dominant...so enjoy the thread. [:D]

I think people are inspired by the love, admiration and respect that they have for each other; being dominant or submissive has nothing to do with it.

Most of my sub/slaves have been vanilla until meeting me.  While this leaves me in a position to say I'm almost certainly inspiring submission in them, the lack of previous submission is pretty much hard evidence against them inspiring domination in me.

This said, dominance has been, in part, inspired in me.  I was a gifted and many yielded to both my opinions and my general will.  They still tend to, in classroom, work, family, and social environments.
You tend to start being dominant when your teachers- figure heads when you're little- start asking you for help before your double-digit years and you see your thoughts and ideas enacted on your peers and superiors.

Read some of the responses.  I currently have only one slave.  After recent experiences, I've acquired a distaste for trusting the sincerity of young* girls.  She's.. inspiring me, if nothing else, to begin to trust her.  I must admit, I'm finding it a dubious prospect, at best, but.. we'll see.

(*-  "young" as in "under 25")

Oh he'd admit in a heartbeat that he is inspired by me in many ways.  We don't really do the dominant as all wise and knowing, pillar of strength thing, although he is a bit of a brainiac.  I actually really revel in his full humanness.  In his ability to express it all without worrying about being anything enough.  With his embracing me as a human being he loves in his life who can comfort him as he comforts me.   We very much have a two way street thing going here.  I don't want to be nor do I want him to be a caricature of anything.  Just fully human.  That's really important to me.  So it means that I can being all fo the skills I have developed in my life to assist him with his.  And he welcomes it.

We inspire each other.  In many ways.

Of course she does, particularly my own personal discipline.
 
When I'm single I'm a "typical" guy - for eg, the dishes get done when I feel like it; maybe once a fortnight even if they don't need it.... lol
 
But when I have a sub to focus on, the art of command includes leading by example.  I can hardly be a male slob and punish her if she's equally lax, can I?  Welllll, that prick in the mirror always answers with a resounding "NO"!
 
Most newbies know a Dom is good for a sub's discipline....  I rather like that it actually works both ways - for me, anyway....

Yes she does. I dont think of my beloved katie as simply my alpha slave, she is first and foremost my mate. Her devotion to me is clear both in her role as my slave and my companion in the vanilla world and that devotion inspires me to be the best that I can be at all times, in all ways.

Absolutely!!!  It's all about the energy mix for me.  Just like a sub dies inside over time if she isn't fulfilled and responded to in some way, I'll die also.  Relationships require back and forth. 

After all, aren't they there at least in part to provide that service to me? ;)

Oh yes definately[:)], many subs have inspired Me, and I have learnt all I know from My submissives.

I have never read a BDSM book fact or fiction,  I have only practised ideas and performed activities in live play/scenes/sessions and areas of BDSM with My submissives. I have almost a decades experience, yet, I am still learning new techniques and new creative activities within My lifestyle, from My submissives and My own creativity.

I've been on my own for a little while, waffling between searching/being sought and hanging up the proverbial whip.

One of the things that I realized is that while I'm easily self-sufficient, there is great room for improvement having a partner.  When you fend for yourself, you start to lose some of your own responsibility 'edge'.  I realized that having a partner allows me to pick up my own slack, and at the same time carry on those responsibilities in the 'care and feeding' of another.

It's also a matter of leading by example.  If a partner can see how I carry on my life, it gives her an indication of what I would seek as well as how I can have a positive influence.

Considering I've written a few stories inspired by my subs and slaves, I'd say "obviously."

In other ways Fox can inspire me. When he's working hard, like mowing the lawn it often inspires me to do some work too (or at least to kneel on the couch and watch him through the window).

A particular look, gesture or tone of voice from Fox can inspire me to scene or turn me on.
