I have decided to go off the grid.

After taking a few day sout to research the subject i find myself well on my way to bnilding a fusion reactor as that will be used to supply the heat for my house for sure at this point, looks like also the fuel for my car, and a good chance put juice back on line to sell back to the power company.  (still a couple of engineering hurdles with that)

i want out of this ripoff oil economy and am already buying all th eparts needed to do just that.

so that means r1 = carbon print of --(some number) since i will be selling clean juice back to the electric company LOL

So there is my new project and i hope to have it all up on line in less than a year.

Ummmmmm... have a good time.

Best of luck.  I'll give you $1 for 1 million shares of your power co.  (What the hell, I buy Lotto tickets when the jackpot gets big too.)

You're building a fusion reactor, eh?

Wanna send me the plans?  I could patent that shit for you.

Yours,

well there arent really a set of prints per say, i just made a few sketchs, there is nothing really patent or i would be doing it.

this is what put me on to it  lol

Further proof that you'll believe anything.

BTW if you actually needed fuel for a reasonably efficient fusion reactor a thimble full of high purity heavy water would be enough to power your home for at least your expected lifespan. Even at miniscule positive efficiency, impossible at present, a 50 gallon drum would be far more than you need and would atract the attention of the nice folks at homeland security.

RealOne,

Do us all a favor, please?  Take you camera phone into
the planning office so you can catch the expression on
the building inspector's face when you apply for the permit.

That's something I would really like to see.

Outlier

..cold fusion....

the reason you don't hear much about it anymore is that the original results could not be duplicated at other facilities.  and a lot of folks gave it a try.  occaisonally you see a paper or two appear about the latest attempts.

in science (and engineering), your results have to be replicated by outside folks to be considered valid. form a hypothesis, test it, and evaluate the results.  if the test shows your hypothesis is valid, others should be able to use the same process and yield similar results.

sometimes it takes awhile for the results to shake out (i'm thinking of early adoption of some medical procedures and medications that were later found to be of little use or even harmful).  but in matters of science generally if you're the only one who can get results, something's seriously awry.

My thoughts exactly :)  It would give me efficiency that is off the charts LOL

Oh btw you wouldnt by any chance remember what part of the ocean they dumped them would you?

If anyone else said this, I would consider it an obvious joke but I must confess that coming from you... well... I'm a bit worried.  I'm just glad I'm a few states away from you.

uhhhhhhhhhhh... I guess I'm unclear why you must go to all that fuss.  I just used a solar voltaic array and several deep-cell batteries and had enough to do anything I wanted...including run a couple of computers.  It wasn't all that expensive...and perhaps with another array, I could have plugged in a car.

I understand they're building a new solar plant over the hill (here in So Co).  Wind energy is also pretty popular.  I like that the 'fuel' for either is safe and free.  <shrugs>  I just don't understand the interest in fusion when you can have 'off grid' now.............well, unless you're a chemistry nut!   LOL

i will not only power my hoiuse with it but gerate power and send it back to the power company where I will get a check from them every month :)  and also make fuel for my car.  pretty much have as much energy as my lil ole heart desires and make money in the process :)

how many kw system are you running?

The world needs a breakthrough in energy production.  Not just a replacement, but a way to produce a lot more.  Cold fusion is a head scratcher.

It can't possibly work.  It just doesn't fit our understanding of the rules.  It's heresy.  Yet sometimes, here and there, it almost seems to happen.

The flash of genius might occur in some well-funded university lab, or it might strike some keeper of obscure knowledge, who may or may not have been standing too close to the machine that turns hemp into fuel, toiling on his pet project out in the barn.
