I mentioned the magic powder to a black friend of mine and he cautioned that it might burn. [&:]

Woo-Hoo!!! Just ordered My free razor!

Ssilver -> RE: Shaving question??????? (5/23/2005 2:01:44 PM)

You'd need to go to a Trader Joe's grocery store. Unfortunately, I don't think they have any where you are. If you travel though, especially to the coasts, they are pretty easy to find.

I have incredibly sensitive skin and I found that Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel: http://www.aveeno.com/detailAction.do?id=3670 is miraculous to avoid razor bumps. Soaking in a hot bath first, before shaving, will help as well.

Nope I never have to shave.. I use it once a week and have no probs at all!
All you do is make the paste, spread it on all over and wait about 5-7 minutes, rewet a little if it drys off, then take a wash cloth and rub in a circular motion,, not to hard, and rinse off.. Great stuff! Give it a try!

Sounds awesome. Will for sure check this product out. :D

Tom3 -> RE: Shaving question??????? (6/5/2005 4:07:43 PM)

good luck,
tom

Try this one. In my opinion it is better than the one's mentioned here.
It also has the best drawback of all. It is 100% free for a limited time.

People who took advantage of this deal should start getting little boxes in the mail soon. I got mine this afternoon.

Now, this might sound a bit extreme and you will most likely scoff at me and think I am joking. In fact, I am joking, but I feel silly tonight.

Try 20 grit sand paper on a belt sander. It will take the hair off. You might be a bit tender for 3 to 5 years, but it will clear up in time.

One sub I knew used lighter fluid. She spread a copious amount over her pubes and then took a match and WHOOOOSHHHH!! All gone. She was a strange one.

Have you tried a straight razor? I like to use a nice dull and rusty one and use it dry, don't be a sissy and use gel or some such nonsense. When you are done shaving like this, smear the area with Icy/Hot rub. Now, the rub will help desensitize the area but be sure to move the furniture out of the house before doing it because people have been known to react poorly to an astringent on their naughty bits. If it burns a bit too much, get a pitcher of ice water and clean the entire area with it.

One other way to do this is to train a rabid badger to gnaw off those unsightly pubes.

I hope these have been helpful. [&:]

My pleasure. I have no idea how I managed before without it.

stormsfate -> RE: Shaving question??????? (6/22/2005 6:17:59 AM)

Received my Quattro yesterday. Whenever I get around to trying it, I'll let you know my opinion on the results. I still say that plucking has the absolute smoothest results and lasts a lot longer than anything else I've ever tried, but it is very time consuming...not to mention that some parts are more tender than others. I used to pluck the part top, and shave the rest.

I tried the Magic powder about 12 years ago and it burned me badly, and didn't even take off much of the hair. I never understood how others had such good success with it.

I've used Nair, too, but it can also burn if you don't get it off right away, and you can expect to be sensative for a while after. Its probably not a good idea to use it there (in fact there is a warning on the bottle not to)...but at the time I was young and stupid.

I've ended up with Venus. It seems to give me the best results, although I am looking forward to trying the Quattro.
