That is very kind of you LadyIce.

I have been very surprised at the tone of the majority of the posts here about being loved... who knew?

Its hard.  i generally try and make an effort for them.  Atleast an effort of friendship.  Some can take it and some cant.  i try and consider their feelings, but when it comes down to the axe.... i've got to look out for myself.  It becomes a fine line of standing your ground and not hurting their feelings.  i've a good friend, who will call X, who i know has loved me for almost 10 years.  In the begining, every few years he would ask me "why have we never been together".  Tough question.  You cant be blunt and say because i'm not interested in you that way.  (then the why questions start)

Eh, i just find it a tough dance.  i understand what its like to be inlove and not loved back and i dont want to hurt others....... and on the other hand i dont want to be with some one i'm not inlove with.

I've only had this experience once(well, that i'm aware of).

It was the strangest of things, this woman, just liked me to much after about 5 minutes. I mean like crazy to much, like move in together talk. That was bizarre, I still haven't figured it out. She didn't know me, I'm not rich, I was driving a clunker. It was just to weird, like meet someone at 1:00 pm and by 1:05 pm, they are pursuing you for months.

Anyway, I couldn't take a relationship that was being built, on something I couldn't even identify as being there. I literally knew nothing at all about her.

It was the weirdest weirdest relationship thing. It was like I imagine people react to celebrities, they just like you for some reason, and want to be with you, and plan a future with you, and you don't even know ANYTHING about them.

I'm still confused

Oh to answer what I did, I just told her, I couldn't be in a relationship right now, because I was moving(which was true). And then she got all pissed and started telling me how she was seeing this other dude, and he really like her, and then I just stopped communication. I don't play the whole make jealos bullshit, and I was being nice, to the extent I could be. But it was 100 percent pursuing if any contact was made.

I would be interested in knowing as well. I have never had someone in love with me. I imagine it is pretty amazing.

It's not yet noon on Saturday and I am more random than usual.

Has anyone out there actually had someone who was in love with them?  And I mean this totally disassociated from your being in love with that person (necessarily).

What was it like?  How did you know it?  What did it mean for you?....

I can only judge ~love~ by what I call it when I give it.  And with that in mind, I cant honestly say I have ever felt loved in the same way I give it.

on another note.... I have heard "I love you" when it was really confused Lust.  Of course it took years to realize it for what it was.  But mature love is a unique and precious thing that I hope one day to give again and find in return.

edited cause my fingers cant type tonight............

Perhaps your fingers could type "better" if they were not "loving" you so much...And Oh so well!

I am not sure why the OP was misconstrued, but seems to have been... greatly.

I was not really asking about unrequited love (necessarily) or what does it feel like to have someone you know is in love with you whom you do not love back...

I just wanted to know what it felt like to know someone was in love with you and how it affected you (or not).

Puella If I might suggest; I think perhaps what is being seen is the breadth and width of variables.
Variation 1: I love them but they don't love me (heart break)
Variation 2: they love me and I am simply NOT interested (a pain but usually manageable)
Variation 3: Obsession/fetishistic adoration (stalkers)
Variation 4: reciprocal love
Variation 4a: Reciprocal NOT how you want it (feels abusive)
Variation 4b: Reciprocal mostly right (feels manipulative)
Variation 4c - perfection

Each of these situations will result in a different feeling and vibe, a different response and reply.  In the end it boils down to whether the person loving you is someone you want to be loved by, and is also loving you in such a way as to be comfortable for you - it's a delicate balance situation.
Love can be hell and brimstone if it's wrong, it can be a slow and painful death, it can be death by a million cuts - repression, oppression, control and ultimately suffocation ... or it can be the life you never had, and a rebirth of soul.
Everything has it's variables; and love - is the highest among them.

My last relationship ended because he was in love with me and I was not able to return the feelings. I will say that knowing how he felt made me feel very uncomfortable, guilty, and resentful. It was a huge relief when the relationship finally ended.

Hrmmm, for some reason I took it that way. As in one way love/relationship/whatever(I still don't know what it was).... Don't know why either, but that is the quesiton I was answering.  Have to slow down next time I guess.

Probably because of   "And I mean this totally disassociated from your being in love with that person (necessarily)."

Puella

Love is such a powerful emotion that often one can not think about it without applying it to all parties involved. Asking what it feels like to 'be loved or have someone in love with you', and then expecting the answers to reflect ONLY the question at hand; without taking into account the emotions that it involves on both sides is almost impossible.

Because I did not return the feelings of the one I was with; knowing his feelings for me caused alot of guilt in me. If I had not known of his feelings, chances are we would still be together. Because of my own feelings towards it though; the relationship could not sustain.

Just saying that one can not disassociate themselves when it comes to 'love' or being 'in love'. It is not a feeling that can be picked apart and analyzed in that way.

This is a hard question, and one I am trying to dig deep for..hard for me because I have never been with the ones I loved..usually they loved elsewhere..As for the ones that loved me..as per usual I did not love them..how did that make me feel?..I felt guilty, responsible for somehow misleading them, and usually sought in some way to gently let them know that I felt not ,that love ,they wanted...and when that message was finally delivered I felt saddened by the pain I had inflicted, and tended to distance myself from any relationship that had to do with the opposite sex..probably as a way to self punish for what had happened...Tempting

Hello

I guess I can answer this from my perspective. What is it like knowing that my girl is in love with me? From the perspective of our relationship, I guess you could say that it gives me a feeling of a bit more power over her; knowing that I can get that bit of extra control by using her emotions. How do I know that she is in love with me? From the look in her eyes, to the tone of her voice; from the little extra things she does for me to hearing her say the words. What does it mean to me? It means alot. I don't want a relationship that has no strong emotions attatched to it. Because of her feelings towards me; mine are only stronger towards her.

Live well

Alex
