There are more bbw's than men who prefer bbw's. It is what it is.

Do you have data to support your claim?

Ditto. Cause you know I have a TON of fat friends, coworkers and aquaintances and every one of 'em is HAPPILY married! I also know a lot of thin ladies, middle age and up who are not or never have been married and don't seem too happy.

I want to let men out there know just how cold and heartless it is for them to turn women down because of their weight.

And I suppose that their own prefereces when looking for someone should not mean a dayum thing?

I refuse to date anyone who is overweight. I refuse to date anyone who is shorter than me. I refuse to date anyone who is not working. I refuse to date anyone who is younger than I am. I refuse to date anyone who does not look or act a certain way. And what's more , I am not above telling them EXACTLY why I am not seeing them.

If a man or a woman does not like a particular body type in a partner, it does not make them cold and heartless; it does however make them very PICKY.

On that note myself and my sub both are overweight and while we do not care if any one else likes it the can get bent. but we are also working on getting better to  work on different scenes.

FAT women have a better sense of self and like to eat / cook.... and I get something to hold on to... not skin and bones that might break.

seeksfemslave -> RE: rant over "fat women" (4/30/2007 2:35:33 PM)

Look Ladies,  if you were as mature as feminist apologists say you are you wouldnt be so hung up on this weight issue.

Just get out there and do you own thing and anyone who is insulting to you simply because of your weight is a nasty piece of shit and not worth bothering with anyway. Thats what I think !

Why would one come to this conclusion?  Quite frankly I am much more content to be alone than to be with someone who would not hold my attention for a substantial period of time...And there are many attributes, or lack there of, which would cause my affections to wane with personal appearance being one of those factors.

I still don't understand why personal preference is simply not enough of an explanation....You all are very particular...geekygirl your list of "deal breakers" was enough to choke a horse...In a way your deal breakers and the Domidong have much in common.

Stop putting women down because of their weight.

This was the OP's message. Now, granted she presented a mostly emotional "rant." Everyone's entitled to that every once in a while. But still, the message is clear. I've stated in this thread and I'm stating it again. The issue is not about one's personal preference...it's about how people treat people in this society and frankly the kind of behavior that is accepted in this society. It's fine to not want to date a certain type of person, or body type. But not fine to hurl insults, berate someone, judge someone...whatever, just because they are fat, overweight, pleasingly plump or because you're having a crappy day and just wanna take it out on some unsuspecting fat person.

I believe most people think of themselves as generally good people with generally good intentions. And sometimes we say things to people and do not realize the impact we have made. Some people you can insult till you're blue in the face and will never get a reaction from them. Others you say one thing and they're sent to their beds with hysterical crying...most of us fit somewhere along that continuum. And the point is, why hurl the insults at all? Does it matter that the one cries and the other is stoic? The problem lies with the one hurling the insult in the first place. Where there is no insult, there is no need to combat it.

My two cents on the airline seat...I blame the ailrlines for packing us in like sardines. It took a while to dig this up but, here's some stats

"Coach seats on U.S. domestic flights are usually either 17.2 or 18 inches wide; on longer flights, economy-class seats on wide-bodied planes tend to be slightly larger, up to 18.5 inches. (A seat in an average economy car is 22 inches wide while an ordinary office chair measures 19 inches.)"

I've been on both sides of this coin. When I was a larger girl, being in an airline seat was so heartbreaking. I would sit there, trying to keep my arms close to my body so as not to annoy the person next to me. Doing that for 2-4 hours is horrid. Not to mention how the arms of the seats press into your legs. It hurt. Flat out, hurt. Fortunately, I have lost some of that uncomfortable weight and the seats are not an issue now. Though I feel much better about myself, I have never forgotten the humiliation of being squeezed into a seat too small for me, with no way to do anything about it in the moment.

I realize I got myself in that position physically, me, just me. And have and continue to take steps to improve that.

I don't have a solution, other than to hope that airlines widen their seats to a slightly more comfortable width....or offer a few seats of 'width' for persons of size. That way more normal sized people are not inconvenienced by larger people, and larger people are more comfortable on their trip. (Though this is probably not the place to get a change like that instated)

Good response. With the dimensions of the seats the "somewhat" on the larger size doesnt really cause a problem, and you are correct that it tends to be a flying in the US issue, but occasionally I've had a really large overflow occur and then perhaps the question is who has the most right to the seat? I'd feel the same way if someone with really bad BO was next to me, why should they impose on me in an unacceptable way.

Its a bit like smoking, who had the greater right the smoker or the non smoker if they both have to be in the same location at the same time? If the smoker insisted I paid for his cigerrettes as well as putting up with the smoke I perhaps am entitled to feel... well slightly upset.... :)

HopeLost -> RE: rant over "fat women" (4/30/2007 5:22:21 PM)

well this may be off the topic of the last message but here goes. i am only here for friends and yet when i send a picture most times the man will stop talking to me. what, am i sooo gross that you cant even stand to be my friend? and why dont you just get a pair man and send me a message back saying "hey fatty cant talk no more!" sorry i have a sore point with the last message. why make me wait forever to talk to someone i thought was my friend just to never get another message. that uncomfortable silence kills me!

Dtesmoac -> RE: rant over "fat women" (4/30/2007 5:28:48 PM)

even more off topic, send me an e mail and I'll respond, totally nice and polite. For friendship whats on the inside is most important..... for all the rest... well I have that covered and shes not exactly slim, has had children, and is just my cup of tea,.... on planes I'm an irritable bigot...

minnetar -> RE: rant over "fat women" (4/30/2007 5:59:03 PM)

Everyone has rights to preferences.  i prefer Black Doms to Whites.  i prefer a Sensualist to a Sadist so there is nothing wrong with your preference at all.  i hope You do understand that not all weight issues are due to over eating but can be due to genetics.  Thyroid issues are just one and as women age they also gain weight.

You are correct there are many medical reasons, however, without getting all facist and finger pointing with you, I travel regualarly to 8 countries and 10 US states, and medical reasons do not explain the geographical trends that are observable.

NeedToUseYou -> RE: rant over "fat women" (4/30/2007 8:07:23 PM)

I like thin girls because they make my pecker look bigger. LOL.  Also, I'm not super athletic, and I can pick a smaller woman up easier(if at all). I also tend to like B sized breasts or smaller, generally heavier women have bigger tits.

Hey, I'm considered fat I guess, I don't care, if some woman doesn't want me because I'm fat, what the hell, I guess we're not compatible physically. Who cares? Not me. Some profiles say black or white only. Well, I'm not black, so what the hell do I care. Some say over 35 or under 25, or over 45 years old, well fuck again, I don't qualify. And some want a "daddy" or a insane psychopath, or a whatever. Well, fuck I really wanted to fuck a few them, to... Rats.... And some people want someone that is really really nice that will let the sub be a brat, well, fuck I'd fucking beat her first, shit and she had a nice ass but I don't fit. And some like to wear diapers, and want to be tucked in and whatnot, fuck, fuck, fuck, I don't qualify again. And some just want you to pay them money to play like they are your sub, shit, I don't have enough money to throw away like that. And some only want someone of a certain religion, or spiritual background. Fuck it all to hell, I'm not Religious!!.....

LOL, I guess, I'll just have to attempt to make everyone guilty about not wanting me so I can get them all. LOL.

And it also makes them very lonely

There are so many things wrong with this post I don't even know where to start.
YOU have the idea that if YOU were picky then you'd be lonly. Don't project your idea to everone else. Being picky doesn't mean becoming lonely for a great chunk of people. It' means that they are boycotting the fact that they'd be less than satisfied with their life settling with something that doesn't turn them on. For many of us, settling on something you really don't want makes us lonely, not the fact that we are picky. For many, being alone is better and more fulfilling than being stuck with someone who doesn't satisfy ones longings.

FAT women have a better sense of self....

So you're basically saying that people who have never experienced overpopulation of fat cells under their skin have LESS knowing of themselves? How does excess bodyfat give you a better sense of self?  What you are saying here is that YOU somehow connect YOUR sense of self to your own bodyfat. Good for you if it works for you but don't expect others to do so as well.  I've been stick thin and overweight too in my life. But I've never once connected my sense of self to the number of fat cells in my body and I can honestly speculate that the people who base their self worth and sense of self on their subcutaneous fat have overall less "sense of themselves" than other people, thin or fat, who base it on other qualities than that.

quote:

and like to eat / cook....

If that were the truth, every professional chef in the world would be morbidly obese. Making statements like these obviously shows your own narrowmindedness and moreso even your own justifications to being overweight. Being fat doesn't mean you like food more than thin people. Thin people love food too. Loving food and loving cooking food doesn't necessitate eating gigantic amounts of it. That is in alot of cases the difference between a fat person and a thin one, the self control of the enjoyment of food.

I think that the food we are eating is destroying our body's ability to metabolize it. So while you are correct, there are geographical trends, there is also a case to be made that our diets are destroying our ability to metabolize food properly. Our endocrine system is  very complex.

SweetlySubmissve -> RE: rant over "fat women" (5/1/2007 7:31:32 AM)

I hope no one would ever say that because I would beg to differ.

I am a BBW.

I'm very healthy. No underlying aliments, save for the one that makes me overweight to begin with.

And I'm just simi-intelligent.

becca

(Yes, I know...semi-intelligent was spelled wrong. It was supposed to be funny.)

IrishMist -> RE: rant over "fat women" (5/1/2007 7:39:26 AM)

~fast reply~

I am going to say it since no one else seems to have the guts to do it.

So there are some who do not like fat people.
There are those who don't like thin people.
There are those who don't like tall, who don't like short, who don't like bald, who don't like black or white, who don't like intelligence....the list of not likes goes on and on.

People, it's called PERSONAL PREFERENCE.

What's more, if you take offense in an email to someone telling you that they don't want to be with you because of your weight; GROW THICKER SKIN and learn to accept the fact that there are people like that out there.

SirKitty -> RE: rant over "fat women" (5/1/2007 7:44:34 AM)

Fat chxx ... make! YOUR life easier (sung to some forgotten melody)..

gothicdiva -> RE: rant over "fat women" (5/1/2007 7:51:36 AM)

Satyr, I agree with you. Why is it that EVERY fat/overweight woman labels themself a "BBW?" More often than not, these women are just fat...and NOT beautiful. Besides that, I HATE that term. I'd be interested to see the person who actually coined that term.

As someone else said, it all comes down to "preference." I prefer someone who is more "fit" themselves and they have a right to turn me down because I am not. I don't have an issue with that. I also turn people down for other reasons...ie. ignorance, rudeness, etc.

Thrilled to wake up and see yet another "fat" thread on here...LOL
