What you say about social constructs is absolutely correct. Throughout the world, you find that love, sex, relationships, male/female gender roles, etc., etc., are not consistant. There are tribes where the males job is to be prestine and proper, primped and beatiful while the women are out hunting. Other tribes file their teeth, shave their head, and try to get their children's heads to be as cone shaped as possible while the skull bones are still soft enough to manipulate, all in the name of beauty. In Japan, people get married in red most of the time. In some carribean arenas, mothers don't touch their children for the first two years other than when it's absolutely necessary because they believe that getting attached is futile due to high infant mortality rates and, therefore, motherhood isn't a universal feeling.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm quite capable of hitting a non-paper, moving target ... deer hunting (among other things) is fun.

I know ... I was determined to leave after the first post I made ... but I just kept coming back to read the humor. There is nothing funnier than a dumbass who doesn't realize that he's a dumbass LOL edited to clarify - the dumbass definitely not the OP. I'm sure that most everyone knows who I'm talking about, but I want to make sure ... mostly because the dumbass will probably accuse me of insulting the OP when I'm really insulting him snickers

Einzelgänger & LaTigresse were not talking about deer. They were reffering to Humans. I don't know of anyone who would want to conceal their weapon in a handbag to go hunting deer. Target practice, is a lot different than the real thng.[:D] I'll let them talk. Apparently they live in a tough world & they are proficient at what they do.[;)]

I'm aware that they weren't talking about deer - however, I was making a point that women really do shoot at things other than paper targets, and that sometimes we do it for fun rather than out of dire need. And for the record, I have aimed at a person before, but fortunately, the police showed up before I had to shoot.

I actually WAS thinking about deer. I used to hunt on horseback with my colt 45 revolver. Illegal as hell but I did it. I have also shot and killed a multitude of other creatures not human. I have never actually shot AT a human being. The closest I ever came would be the time I shot a branch off of a tree over an over zealous young man's head at 3AM when he interupted my sleep. He got the point and left, I got to go back to sleep. The hole in the screen was a small price to pay.
