Since joining this community I have read the term Pro Domme alot. I was not sure what it referred to so I looked it up on Google. To me this kind of scening is so sexual/sexually charged that I don't really understand how it is legal. Is there a fine line that is not crossed? If one of you lovely Ladies is employed in this way or has experience would you please explain. Thanks

My opinion on the ProDomme scene, of which I am a part of as well as being a Lifestyle dominant Woman, is simply that BDSM is about mental, emotional, and physical surrender of a Domme, AND a submissive/slave. To me, if I am doing a ProDomme session it is about allowing the client to surrender to her/his sensual repression. And yes, I believe "sensual" is a lot different from "sexual". Sex can be sensual because it involves a lot of our senses. But "sensuality" is so much more than sex, and can be just as enjoyable without crossing the boundries into prostitution. I am helping the person to let go of all repression to the best of our combined abilities. I NEVER have sexual contact with them because that is crossing a line into prostitution, and therefore illegal. I have a lot of experience working with people from all walks of life. I have a lot of emphathy, and find it easy to assist in helping people out of themselves. There is nothing sexual about helping someone with freedom from repression. BDSM is an adult form of entertainment, bonding, and lifestyle which I find to be extremely liberating for anyone I have known who is experiencing it. These are My opinions, and I hope to read some more opinions on this interesting subject. Be in peace.

Yes, I completely agree with DameDeviante.
BTW I'm a pro Domme (also lifestyle).
No, I never had and will have any sexual conduct with clients.
I can have "that" level of intimacy in a lifestyle.

Simply meaning, we (Pro Dommes are not supposed to) don't provide any sexual service at all are considered a rpostitution under the law.

You'd simply come for a session of corporal punishment, NT, cbt, puppy training, wrestling, cross dressing, humiliation, bondage, slave training, role play etc, etc.....

People can get into their sub space without having sex/release.
Scening can be erotic that doesn't mean you have to have an actual sex.

BDSM stands for Bondage & Discipline, Dominance & Submission, Sado-Masochism can be sensually and sexually charged, and pro Dommes can be in it for simply as it is.

There's a lot of things that can be erotic and not need sex to be fufilling I can think of a few things right now such as a good hard spanking or a flogging that's hot but not sex driven.

Dont quote my numbers but it IS illegal in probably 3/4s of the US. So is obsenity, and last time I checked about 23 states still have "Sodomy Laws" on the books. A few states still have "Cohabitation Laws" restricting who lives with who, some states dont allow women to own a dildo, Georgia was trying to make illegal a female having her genitals pierced (yes, only females) etc etc etc.
Essentially no one cares until some local D.A. decides to try to advance their political career by trying a case to appease the "Family Values" crowd.
If you are really concerned from a legal standpoint, Google it for your state or area.

Thank you all so much for answering but now I am wondering. Do the people who come for a session end up having a crush or even falling in love with you? Don't they end up desiring to be with you in a more intimate way and then end up unfulfilled in the end, or is the acting out of their fantasy the fulfillment they receive? Do they get to pick what is scened or does the Domme?

The clients who pay get to pick I belive.

And of course sometimes clients caqn desire more become obsessed think their in love ect ect, but it's up to the pro dom to stay professional and keep things professional, or take the client on in non client ways, meaning no money is now payed to see the person

Prostitution is legal in Germany. Still I met one Pro Domme at a party and she told me she never gets involved with clients sexually.
(She got involved with me later on but it was pretty vanilla and no charge )

Don't get him started, Kassia! <grins at Wolfie>

Actually, here in Michigan the area of what is prostitution is very grey indeed. If a foot guy sucks on my toe for money, that is considered an act of penetration, and therefore under the prostitution laws!

I would never dream of having sexual contact with clients, though I do heavy cbt, and sometimes will have someone masturbate in my presence, because it amuses me.

I have people develop crushes on me all the time----it happened when I was a young schoolteacher, as well. Smile nicely, deflect their feelings without appearing to reject them, and remain professional.

Thanks to all of you for responding to this difficult issue. I want to be Pro_Domme. I am training with a Domme who is pro. There is a fine line between sexual pleasure and sensual. There is no sexual exchange in my scening. I get into helping a person face their fears and help them enjoy the lifestyle as they should.
I have been relutant to post on this issue. This thread has helped me a lot.

Respectfully,

MJ

Off topic, but does anyone know of any online resources for people interested in going into prodomming (specifically stuff relating to legal issues, safety and things like that). There's plenty of material around telling people how to be dominant (however useful or valid information of that sort is), but precious little about safely doing it for money with people you don't necessarily know very well.

Greenery had a book of how to for sex workers including prodommes. However, I'd take any legal advice with a grain of salt. These laws are usually not even statewide. Most of them are county or city ordinances so two towns only a few miles apart may have wildly different laws. Also, it isn't so much the laws as the enforcement. Something may be illegal and not of interest to the local cops. On the other hand, things can be legal but if they offend the local powers that be will be attacked with all sorts of obscure ordinances.

Your best bet is to go to the manager of your local strip club and ask who he uses for a lawyer and pay that lawyer for a consultation. Most general practice lawyers don't have the vaguest idea of what is going on in the sex business.

John is right----often a Republican or conservative area will try and crack down on sex workers for the glamour of saving us from ourselves, while a bigger city has other issues.

Midori has an excellent self-questionnaire on her site, fhp-inc.com. I really recommend it----lots of folks *think* they want to become pro dommes, but find that they are not suited to the work.

In Detroit, there are several pro dommes or former pro dommes who are in close contact with each other, and are supporters of the scene, bdsm education, etc. There are some other pro dommes who love to talk themselves up, and never show their faces in public. Try talking to whoever is working in your area----I don't know what luck you will have, of course, but networking helps a lot!
