Hee.. ok, ok...

-OH! - 1 light drink. I do believe it was a hunting knife, however. Best time of my life.

I know people that get drunk off of wine coolers, and that's basically a 200 gallon vat of kool aid with a couple shots of a hard liquor stirred in.

Too many inhibitions are lost with a single drink for me to trust anyone like that.  I wouldn't trust myself with a straight razor, but then again, I'm a cutter. *smirk*

Hello A/all,

I personally will not play under the influence of it.  I dont personally think it is safe, etc.  I dont, however, think my beliefs are (or even should be) considered universal.

On the other hand, BDSM is really about using various things to modify brain chemistry in both the Dominant and the submissive.  For me, I experience a high as a Dom, and my submissive experiences her own subspace.  Im not sure why people who are seeking these states would take a depressant substance like alcohol prior to indulging in their kink.

I gave up pot at 17, and never took anything harder, so I cannot speak to those substances.

Just me, could be wrong, etc.

Sinergy

Interesting point, Sinergy.  The altered brain chemistry is basically a drug-induced euphoria.  The only difference between a 'space' and a 'high' is the fact that it's an action creating the state instead of an illicit substance.  And speaking from personal experience, an illicitly obtained euphoria is not nearly as satisfying as an accomplished one. (READ: Drugs are bad, Beating is good.)

But it does raise the interesting question in my mind as to whether is it safe to play with someone that is in 'space', but that is prolly best saved for another thread to avoid hijacking this one.

Absalutly no way!!! You dont drive under the influance because you may hurt someone you dont play under the influance because tha Dom may loose controll or thesub might not be able to know when enough is enough

ok......my original post got denied.......so im modifying it a bit to coincide with the TOS....

how do you feel about the use of alcohol during BDSM play?
is it ok to play & be 'under the influence?'

personally i think its not the safest thing.....but is acceptable, in my mind, if it is done (as with all things) in moderation.

Master drinks, but is never under the influence.. and Master never does any sort of play if His slave is under the influence..   Granted Master rarely drinks.. and doesnt much allow His slave to drink so its not an issue..
