Oh there isn't a doubt in my mind that the cops played rough, RedMagic. Oakland has a reputation to live up to, after all.

Is that something you approve of?

It doesn't change fact that the protesters became a vandalizing mob,

Kinda like when the "sons of liberty" burned down the mass. govornors home during the revolution?

and once again, exercised a form of free speech that is guaranteed to further marginalize the movement, rather than drawing in the mainstream they claim to represent.

That appears to be an unsubstantiated opinion.

Of course, what is especially fun to watch in these conversations are the efforts to still draw in the Occupist efforts as an asset to the Democrat party, while hoping like hell nobody points out that Oakland is a Democrat controlled city.

You are one of the few who would like to think of the ows as a demopub asset but had you actually sought to understand the movement you would be aware that they feel both parties are the pawns of the 1%. So your trying to make this a demopub/republicrat paradigm seems to work out in your and rushe's game plan and nowhere else.

Hmmmm.... lets see.... no property crime no police assaults...hey that would work don't you think? That way the police would not have to do their job... you know protect property and such.

It is what it is, regardless of my thoughts on the matter, Thompson.

I'm not familiar with the incident you are citing - got a link?

I'd say the excuses and attempts to distance themselves from the acts indicate it's an opinion shared by the brighter bulbs in the Occupy chandelier.

Had you read my post more carefully, Thompson, you would have noted that I referenced attempts to draw them in as an asset.

I don't know who "rushe" is.

I am quite aware that it is what it is. I asked if you approved and you dance away.

I'm not familiar with the incident you are citing - got a link?

It was called the american revolution. Those familiar with that incident would be aware of most of the major aspects of that revolution. If you are ignorant of the american revolution then it would be difficult for you to appreciate the necessity of these sorts of actions and why the constitution protects them.

I'd say the excuses and attempts to distance themselves from the acts indicate it's an opinion shared by the brighter bulbs in the Occupy chandelier.

Had you read my post more carefully, Thompson, you would have noted that I referenced attempts to draw them in as an asset.

I read your post and responded that ows does not view itself as an asset to any of the parties controled by the 1% no matter how much you would like it to attach to the party that is not you.

I don't know who "rushe" is.

Reallyhow disingenuous of you.

The only, "dance," Thompson, is your usual rabbit hole march of endless questions, leading further and further away from the topic. If you want to discuss urban decay, and the social consequences, start a thread. If I wanted to discuss it here, that would have been the subject here.

Do you have any thoughts you would care to share regarding Occupists looting a flag from the city hall, so they can burn it for the cameras? (Are those the steps of the city hall they are standing on?) Smart step in the right direction for the movement? Fools, to be brought in for a self-criticism session? Outside agitators?

A reputation that may result in Oakland losing control of their own police department.

It doesnt change the fact that some protesters became a mob. Nope, on that I agree with you. And some were arrested. And some were injured. The question remains... were the police correct in the amount of force they used?

I dont see anyone suggesting Occupy is an asset to either party.

They burned a flag. Does that upset you? It is a protected right.

good. this is an appropriate response to the foreign, domestic, and economic policies of the united states. if anything, this level of anger has been long overdue.

Just because a building isn't private property doesn't mean anyone can enter and do anything they like at any time of day.

From the link...

Hmmm, typical violent, lefty, OWS scum-bags... no surprise there.  Fucking vermin.

Gotta love the guy holding up his little "Occupy Oakland" logo, to make sure credit for the statement goes where it due.

That flag being burned is not an American flag. It is an Admiralty flag. Note the gold fringe. If you do not understand the significant difference, you can find out, in ten minutes, by clicking this link.

My opinion? The bandito masks are inappropriate.

Of course they're appropriate. Lots of criminals use bandanas when committing crimes.

Does that matter when folks bereft of any patriotism are trying to smear other Americans?

Burning your own flag is a protected right. No where does it say it's ok to break in and steal one first.

And FrostedFlake...those bandanas are so no one recognizes them. A very common practice for people who think they may get busted. Why would you think that was inappropriate?

Right now I have a empty home on the wrong side of the tracks that I am renovating for rent…does that mean the occupy movement has a right to move in and take it over when ever they like?

We're a lot alike, you and I. We can both summon the vision to see past the rape of an economic class, a vandalism of the public trust that would make the word's namesake blush, ignore nonsense like the administration of a clearly laughable constitution, and are able to focus on what's really important to americans.... some litter, a few broken windows, and a burnt used flag made in china.
Any chance you can get to Dade County to stump for us at the polls tomorrow?

Did you acquire it by underwriting a mortgage and then foreclosing on it? If that's not the case then the answer is no. And the follow up question would be whywould you even think that. The purpose of Occupying Real Estate is to illustrate that is being wasted by the banks and call attention to a HUGE problem most intelligent people GET without much prompting.
But you've been following the Occupy Movement for months, so you already know that having followed BOTH sides of the story.
You should enlighten us about your investment on 'the wrong side of the tracks', it'll probably shed a lot of light on why you hold the views that your habitual negative posts on the topic seem to indicate.
