Status: offline 		Personally, I just dont believe in absolutes. Anytime someone says a particular group of people  are all anything.. well.. I just kind of shrug it off and walk away..

Unless of course they are saying all popes are catholic.. now THAT one I will buy :)

Status: offline 		I think it is the ideal for a slave to be strong and of sound mind and body,  however that is the ideal there are many who are far from the ideal.

Those in the life of kink are no different than those in the life of vanilla, there are all types. Even if you read on cm and read between the lines you can see all types of personalities and I would suggest those walking the line of sanity and insanity.

Just because someone identifies as a slave does not automatically mean they have any particular personality traits.  We have even heard of those who are not pleasers, who are not interested in pain, who do not wish to be controlled. 

This wonderful world of kink is whatever those in the dynamic make it.  That does not make it right or wrong it just makes it.

Status: offline 		The only reason I could never call myself a slave is because I am not a slave, I have choices.  I don't want to get political ... but ... "slaves" ... it's a kinky fantasy, but not reality.

Master and I were talking about this statement last night and He told me that this was virtually impossible and until He gives me a crystal ball, I need not worry about trying to anticipate all His needs.

The only thing I need to do as His slave, is listen and do as He says, knowing that we have a strong foundation of trust and commitment in place to make this second nature to me.

In addition, we both agree that most slaves are not weaklings.  Master told me that He could never tolerate a weak sub or slave.  He is very attracted to a strong, passionate personality...  especially one that trusts Him enough to let Him take the wheel.

Everyone has their own dynamics in a M/s relationship. Anticpating needs might be expected in some. What works for one doesn't work for all.

I personally think that you cannot generalise that all subs are wek or not weak. Different people have different feelings, weaknesses and strengths. i do no consider myself weak but i sure have weakness (when it comes to willpower in some scenarios, eating a little too much, going to the pub a little too much!) but that doesnt make me a weak person.

i have spoken to subs/slaves who i believe were weak and vice versa, infact i have spoken to one slave in particular who i thought was a Domme as she was so determined and stubborn!

So in ending you cannot say all subs are weak, just as you cannot say all subs are strong people. Everybody is different.

this slave believes that it would be just as inaccurate to say that slaves are strong-willed individuals---because assigning character traits to a subjective label isn't going to give anyone a snapshot of reality.
 
in the context of our larger society, this slave believes it takes a strong-willed person(be they a Dom/me, sub, slave, switch, poly, etc.) to be comfortable in and enjoy a relationship that is outside the scope of society's "acceptable" puritanical kink.

Status: offline 		when this girl informed her family that she was the pleasure slave to her new Master (2 years ago), they were amazed that she would bend knee. this girl is the bodyguard to her Chief and the premier warrior for her tribe, her S/sister's have gone with her when she was working for her Chief and have seen her bring big, mean men to their knees so they didnt understand how or why she would desire to be a slave to A/anyone.
 this girl explained to them that what she does for her Chief is work, what she does for her Master is pleasure and there is a difference. her ability to submit to her Master makes it easier and gives her a little info on how to do her job for her tribe.
 this girl is also in college with a 3.65 GPA and assists her criminal justice professor in a couple of his classes. (at his request)
weak?
no..... even Master would tell Y/you that there is nothing "weak" about His pet.

 this girl is a slave..... all the time.
 she always knows she belongs to her Master and conducts herself in a manner befitting Him, even while in school or at a family reunion. the only difference between traditional slaves (i.e. when owning a slave was backed by the law) and this girl is that the justice system will not uphold her Master's claim on her, but this girl always upholds it.
 she has no fear of her Master causing her any harm or outright killing her off, not because He may be afraid of going to jail for it, but because this girl is His prized possession, she is His priceless gem and Master takes very good care of His things.

HUH???? According to who? Sorry, but for me being "a slave" has a great deal to do with my actual personality and capabilities. Acutally it's what makes it real as opposed to acting like a slave.
 
Now perhaps you were meaning there is no standard persona that typifies a slave. That i would agree with.

Being a slave in orientation has zero correllation or causational relationship with any particular personality or capability.  Every personality trait and every capability you possess is also found in every single orientation.  And every personality trait you LACK and every capability you LACK can be found in a slave somewhere.

It why you and I can both be slaves, even though we're completely different people with completely different sets of personality traits and capabilities.
