My favorite show on TV today.  Heroes is higher on my TiVo priority recording list than my other favorite shows: Ultimate Fighter, Boston Legal, The Unit...

Hiro rocks.  It's GREAT to see an Asian man get the spotlight on a major network TV show.

Regardi8ng Molly's dad...  I think he was killed/immobilized by freezing, since he was sitting at the dinner table...  If so, then Sylar probably already had the freezing power -- no?

OK, no one here is a bigger Heroes geek than I.  The following were my thoughts after watching the first episode of this current season:

Isaac:  Hmmm.  That's twice now that it happened.  But, if Hiro goes back in time -- as he alluded to in the last segment...?  Again, Hmmmm...

Eden:  I miss her, too, and thought that it was really cheap to let her go like that.

The Internet Chick:  The one who could access internet chats telepathically?  Whatever happened to her?

Hiro and Ando: are the most interesting and entertaining characters in the show.  I wish the producers would give the viewers what they want: More Hiro (and Ando).  If you ask me, I'd be VERY happy with a Hiro spin-off.

Peter Petrelli:  His coming back to life -- I think everyone saw that coming for MILES.  Glad to see his stupid bowl-hair cut GONE.

Claire's Dad:  I like him more and more.  I don't think he should get any powers, but I like the way his character operates and the way the actor portrays him.  Nice job.

The Shapshifter chick:  I call her Mystique, because I can never remember her name.  Good hate-able villain.

Niki/Jessica Sanders:  I like her.  The character is very interesting, and provides a LOT of exciting storylines, while the actress has, in my humble opinion, the most challenging role to play -- and she performs remarkably well.  I think the actress (Ali Larter) should be up for an acting award for pulling off her role as Niki/Jessica Sanders convincingly and with such compelling style.

Claire Bennett:  Is it wrong for me to think that she's the hottest-looking woman on the show?  Am I showing my true pervy colors here?

Mr. Lindermann:  Well-cast.  The mystery that unravels about this man is GREAT.  I love the fact that he proves to be a complex character, and not simply/purely evil as we may have been led to believe.  Yes, maybe he truly IS a bad guy... But then again...  Maybe he means well?

My Vote for Most Boring (and therefore Most Disposable) Hero:  D. L. Hawkins

Runner-Up: Micah Sanders

Parkman and the Nuke Guy:  Yeah, I like them both.  They're the most "regular Joes" in my opinion, as compared to the bumbling nerd/dweeb/geek heroes of Hiro & Ando (who I like the most because I can relate to them the most).

Ok.... really, really big dork here.

We went back and looked.  In episode 2, when Molly's parents were killed and Matt Parkman (the cop who can hear thoughts) found Molly hiding in the wall, both of Molly's parents were dead.  The mother was killed by projectile utensils stabbing her to death.  The dad had the classic Sylar style killing (wanting to see how it worked) and was sitting frozen.  Have to assume that the dad was the source of the freezing power, and Sylar was testing it out after killing Molly's father.  Makes sense, since all children of the current Heroes also have powers.  No off-spring of Heroes (to date) have been powerless.

Thanks-cool. I guess that teaches me not to erase shows off my recorder so fast. I totally forgot that they had shown the little girl before until the two dead parents were brought up-then it was sort of hazy.

Do you think Mohindar will have some sort of power? I thought that boy he kept seeing was some sort of projection of his at first, but they haven't shown that kid in a very long time.

Did Silar demonstrate any other powers that I didn't have on my list in the previous posts? Does Peter copy all of Silar's stolen powers too? Does he have any forgotten powers? Was Peter ever around the Waitress that Hiro fell in love with?

Silar usually pins someone or holds them with his Telekinesis while simultaneously cutting their head open. I don't recall what position the father was in when he was found. Wasn't that episode one or two? I know he pinned The other Cheerleader, Peter, Mohindar on the ceiling, and probably a few others.

Nobody seems to like D.L., but his powers just need some cool creativity thrown in. He can be an invulnerable killing machine if he wants to be. He can leave people in walls or stand in a room, phased, and probably shoot a gun at someone(The bullets leaving his personnal field become solid). If he can use the same mechanism for walking through the wall to move in another directions, like up, that would be cool. He's basically Shadowcat(Kitty Pride) from X-men, but he doesn't need to hold his breath.

They want you to have a chance to guess things and some people are slower at it. I'll see that something will happen way in advance and my mom doesn't even see it coming(she loves the show). I also think, they make it up as they go along. They have a basic outline, but they can only feed you as fast as they can cook the meal.

Sorry, don't agree with this.  All of the victims of Sylar (and it is with a "Y", just like the watch) had their heads cut open while they were alive.  The freezing was an after effect.  Sylar always 'tests out' his new powers as soon as he gets them.... to see how they 'work'.

Other comments..... Clair being the hottest looking chick on the show?  Well, that depends.  On the show, she's 16.  In real life, she's 18..... Ew, ew, ew.  Sorry, too young for My blood.

Mica..... Certainly not the most boring.  That kid's signifigance is definitely coming up with the election.  Maybe I should say, the electronic results of that election.  Petrelli has always been down in the polls.  That's why Linderman wants him so bad.  We all know Petrelli wins, in large, because of Linderman.  There's more to that coming.

For additional info, Molly's dad was sitting at the dinner table when killed.  Pinned to the chair, perhaps, while he got his 'crewcut'.

Ando is definitely the most interesting 'non-hero'.  I loved the bit about his death turning future Hiro into such a bad ass.

Best sub plot coming...... Linderman's reference to the 'group' that had plans for destiny among all of the current Heroes.  Eventually, Linderman, Mother Petrelli, and Hiro's father (don't forget... this is all genetic, so some of the parents probably have powers, too.) are all going to come into play.

Anyone else see some X-Men simlarities?

Claire Bennet has Wolverine's regeneration powers...

Bad-Girl Candice the ShapeShifter/Illusionist is kinda like an upgraded Mystique...

Mr. Lindermann reminds me of another X-Men character... Magneto.  I think Lindermann truly believes he is doing the right thing, that he is bringing about something good... and doesn't allow himself to see the horror behind his method.  (Much like Magneto.)

D.L. Hawkings = the Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat of Heroes

Micah Sanders reminds me of Cypher from X-Men (kinda)...

Matt Parkman...  too many telepathic characters in the X-Men universe to list.

Ted the Radiation Dude kinda reminds me of Havoc from X-Men...  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Havok

Nathan Petrelli... Part Angel from X-Men (both are rich playboy types who can fly) and I also have the feeling that he might become the leader of the Heroes supergroup, if they ever get together.  My friends agree that he should have played Cyclops in the X-Men movies....

Mama Petrelli:  I think she got really fascinating seemingly overnight.  Does she have powers?  Is she gonna be the "White Queen" of Heroes?

Did I win Geek of the Thread yet?

All very interesting. I want to see what Sulu's powers are. We know Linderman does stuff already, restoring that plant. Did we see Daddy Petrelli(like a pic or something) or is that Linderman? There is a secret society pulling the strings, but how many are there? Are they all people with powers?

So you guessed the kid would rig the election too?

Claire is cute and the older I get, the better an 18 year old woman looks. I feel that those thighs of hers are gonna get enormous by the time she is 30, certainly by 40 or following her first kid. That Ass is gonna get huge! I liked her with the dark hair.

Sylar is such a creep, I like the crazy look he gets, like when he was turning his mom's place into a snow globe. He played a crazy Vulcan on Enterprise trying to mind rape T'pol if I remember correctly. He was on 24 too, but he wasn't crazy there.

Did you notice they were at Kirby plaza? Jack Kirby was the King of Comics. He created Thor(Stan Lee the editor always takes the credit) and Darkseid and the New Gods and a ton of other characters like the Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer).

I think a guy that worked on the X-men comics for years was in the credits as a Co-exec producer. Chris Claremont.

The characters like Parkmen and Claire seem so much more vulnerable than the comic book characters they emulate. Wolverine is a badass killing machine and most of those other telepath types can destroy your mind or paralyze you or use telekinetics too. I always wonder why the split personality chick doesn't just go nuts and wipe out Linderman. Doesn't she have super strength and all that-a real killing machine, ripping people apart like she did with those guys in her home.

NOPE!  You didn't win geek of the thread yet, cause I've got you.  As far as the X-Men analogy goes, Mama Petrelli is Storm.  Electrical interferences allows Mica to get in and allow Nathan to win.  Ha - ha.  Beat that one!

I didn't recognize Kirby plaza, but they have all been on that roof-top.  Has anyone else noticed the sculpture/view?  Even the pigeon guy was up there.  It was also the view from Simone's father's window.

Speaking of the power George Takei might have..... Maybe that's who fixes the sword.

Kirby Plaza -- as in Jack Kirby?  Yeah, nice!

Chris Claremont rocks.  I never caught the credits, but if he's involved, it explains a lot.

Mama Petrelli has electrical powers??

Ah... you are MY people.  *cyber hugs everyone*

I've checked around on the web and I've seen no reference to Chris Claremont being involved with Heroes. Not saying he isn't but I couldn't find anything. Although the characters are very chatty which is a Claremont thing.

I'm guessing Linderman, Mother Petrelli and Hiro's father were part of the original group of heroes Linderman talked about a couple of episodes ago. I'm just wondering if all this isn't going to be revealed to be the machinations of the previous generation that we've seen virtually nothing about.

I agree with you on Mother Petrelli. She's trying to get Claire out of town for a reason. Plus Linderman was talking about the bomb and Petrelli (the older one) seems in on it. I’m thinking that they’re all evil. But I’m not sure. I can't wait for Monday.

I actually really like DL. I think there going to be some butt kicking to get Mika (sp) back. But Hiro is my fav, just love love love him. I don't think he will kill Sylar; but might go and help change him. The current non-future Hiro is just such a sweetie.

I think Nathan Petrelli isn't evil, he won't go along with their plan. If you watch Peter's dream from earlier episodes, his brother Nathan is just standing there watching him blow up with this weird look on his face(like an evil bastard)-that is Sylar.

So in the next episode, the shapechanger/Illusionist lady is gonna get killed by Sylar.

I don't think that Nathan is going to be evil, but he needs to figure that out soon. Oh that makes a lot of sense with it being Sylar as evil Nathan since that's what happened when Hiro went to the future.

I forgot that Sylar has to get the shapechaning power. This should be good. Meaning Peter will be able to figure out that it's not Nathan by his powers (not sure what to call it).
