Right but how did he know removing any part of the brain would give him the power. and i mrean what does he do with it Ingest it? I am talking the tecnicalities to him taking other peoples powers.

*And I thought Syler had no power at all to start with? Thats why he took the first one.

Suresh found him during his search. He just didn't think Sylar had anything that special. We know that Sylar had his mom pushing the "You're Special" thing on him. I'd have to find the episode and watch it again. I consider his knowing how to take the powers as his power, like an instinct. It must be something small that he takes, maybe microscopic, or he'd run out of room in his head. He has all the tools for doing precision work on small objects. I wish they would have explained how he did that first time.

You know I just want to know how in the heck Sylar figured out how to take other people powers.

Yeah, since it seemed his power in the past was moving things around. With the snow globes. hmmm...

Sylar's power originally was figuring out how things work or what makes something tick so to speak. He stole the telekinetic ability from his first victim who had come looking for Papa Suresh to just try and get rid of it. Unfortunately for him, Sylar helped him get rid of his power by stealing it. Then Sylar went back to Mohindar's father trying to impress him with his new telekinetics(moving things around with the power of the mind).

That first victim had his ability removed physically, probably with nasty, gory, cutting tools, as Sylar had no telekinesis yet.

Thank you that makes it all make sense now.  That would explain how he steals other peoples powers.

I rewatched the episode "Six Months Ago". Suresh approaches Sylar(Gabriel), because he is on his list. When he walks up to Sylar, Sylar knows that his watch is broken. He fixes it. Suresh asks how he knew the watch was broken and Sylar says that it is a talent of his(That is his power).

Later Suresh tests Sylar and finds nothing and dismisses him, thinking he was mistaken about Sylar having any abilities at all. Sylar was excited about getting a CAT scan and says he is sure his abilities will show any day now, he can feel it. Then Sylar gets angry when Suresh isn't showing any interest in further testing. He storms out after throwing some files, one marked with a man's name with Telekinesis.

The man with Telekinesis shows up at Sylar's shop(he is the actor that plays the assistant Coroner on CSI. He is also CSI's fact checker). He demonstrates his telekinesis and says he just wants to get rid of it. Then Sylar says he is broken, but he knows how to fix him. Sylar says that he sees it all now, how it all works. It is an evolutionary imperative for him to do what he will do(from an earlier discussion with Suresh about why animals do things they do). He picks up a large chunk of crystal and brains CSI guy, who falls and is laying in a  pool of blood. They don't show how he does it, but he removes CSI guy's special brain thing(Suresh also discussed the brain as the controller of everything we are and container of the soul, if there is such a thing). Then he is with Suresh showing off his super duper telekinetics by breaking a glass. Suresh is impressed and they start to work together.

Darn it...I like Parkman.  They better not kill him off.  That is what I get for recording the last half of Heros...I had to go out and missed the commercial for next week.  Am sure he will be ok though.

Speaking of Parkman, he has about a five second part with Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 3. He is at the engagement party.

My character was written off the show just before they started shooting... I was supposed to be on for eight weeks....My power was that I could cause a woman's ass to self lubricate...I mean get really really wet!.....In the eighth episode I was about to nail the shapeshifting chick in the pooper when I was trapped by Sylar....He was about to "brain" me when he just miraculously stopped because he thought my power was just too gross.

It's all such a shame how life works out

Oh, and Ando is not going anywhere...

He is the only real sidekick in the bunch.

I would hope not, since Hiro is still more comfortable speaking Japanese.  I have a feeling that is going to come into play with Sylar's mind reading ability at some point.  He may be able to hear Hiro and Ando's thoughts, but he doesn't speak Japanese.

Actually, I'm still a little surprised that Sylar wants to blow up NY.  Wouldn't he be more interested in the potential powers of some he might kill without getting their "gifts"?

I guess Sylar doesn't have the list and he figures he'll have it all as the President with martial law and all that. I would think that he would want to keep collecting powers though. His purpose and main goal is to be special, to have a special destiny, so anything that elevates him in importance would probably be his goal.

Sylar didn't see the future, so he hasn't put the pieces together about exactly how he will become president.  I'm not sure if he knows about Candice's power yet or not.  If he gets Parkman's power, he'll be further ahead on it.

As far as that goes, does Sylar even know that Linderman exhists?  Taking Linderman's shape would have definitely made him very powerful.  In charge of that kind of money and the power it brings, along with being "special" would have made him a great villan.

I hadn't thought of it before this post but how do we know that is really was Linderman that was killed?

I could have swore after Syler killed the painter they showed Syler doing the painting thing. And it was of the bomb and a presidential poster.

But perhaps I was wrong?

Sylar did see the future-he painted it. Then he painted with his mother's blood and then he knew that he could be special and how to do it, by blowing up the city and becoming President. He must know about Candice.

Sylar did see what he painted, but he didn't see taking the President's (Nathan's form).  Kind of hard to do that just from the painting.  Remember, Sylar doesn't see the future.  He just paints it.  I doubt the one image would give him the key he needs to know all of that.

I'm still a little fuzzy on whether Sylar knows of Linderman or Candice at this point.  There still hasn't been a direct connection between them, and Sylar can't read minds yet.

If it wasn't really Linderman that D.L. attacked before fading out (still don't know if he's really dead either) and it was really Candice, that would kill the entire changing forms theory.  Doesn't he need the brain?

He needs something in the brain-who knows how much. I wonder if Sylar examined all those other paintings that Isaac had?

How much is told in the paintings, We don't really know yet.  Linderman has some and some are still at the loft.  Hiro does have the uncompleted version of the comic book (9th Wonders) but before Issac died, there was a completed version that went to the printer.   There could be answers in either version.
