Carter: Bush's impact 'worst in history'

Former President Carter says President Bush's administration is "the worst in history" in international relations, taking aim at the White House's policy of pre-emptive war and its Middle East diplomacy.

The criticism from Carter, which a biographer says is unprecedented for the 39th president, also took aim at Bush's environmental policies and the administration's "quite disturbing" faith-based initiative funding.

Carter is by far the best ex-President the world has ever seen.  I have maintained for years that his main problem as President is that he was too nice for the job.  Deacon of a sunday school.  Brokered peace settlements between the Isrealis and the Palestineans.  Professor of politics at (the name escapes me) a college in Georgia.

I may be biased, he was a close friend of Hunter S. Thompson.

This coming from the man who single handedly created the problems we have with radical Islamic fascism.

you don't get out much or even read do you?

How did level create this?

You of course, are unable to see where this is going, but at the very least, the problem with a mostly republican majority in the congress and mostly republican presidents over these lo--- last 12 to arguably 20+ years makes it rather hard to pin this tail on a donkey......

What about the other 1300 years?

Osama Bin Ladin attacked the World Trade Center towers on 9/11/2001.

WHO TRAINED HIM IN TERRORIST TACTICS?

Glad Carter qualified that with in international relations because i was thinking it would be Nixon domestically.

This is absolute nonsense. The problems with Islam or Iran if that is what you are referring to goes back to the overthrow of the democratic government by the US and the British in 1953. If both countries practiced what they presached, there wouldn't have been a problem. Carter just happened to be in power when the revolution took place and successive Presidents have had exploitative and policies in the middle east ever since. The fact that the first talks with Iran have taken place since the Islamic revolution is an indictment of US foreign policy and that is not down to Carter.

That certainly explains the Moorish conquest of Spain and the various Crusades.

I think Bush is much worse than Nixon, domestically. Even worse than Reagan! The Dems leave a lot to be desired (they're all fat cats, after all), but the poor, the middle class, and the environment do better when they're in office.

Jimmy Carter says so?!?!?!

And who is he??? LOL!!!

Only the worst President EVER!!!

After less than one term of him, Americans were ready to rush back to the party that gave us Watergate, and by the biggest lanslide ever!!!

That's how bad Jimmuh "Spitch Impeduhmunt" Cottuh was. Dumber than a box of rocks, too... has to build houses for the homeless now to recover some sort of a legacy - any legacy at all.

The poor guy has sunk so low he has to resort to trying to pull other Presidents down to his level just to try to make himself look somewhere near acceptable.

Sanity stop with the slams.  Give some rationale as to why you found him to be that rather than just personal opinion  i think he has done a great job as an elder statesman.

Please - i am saying to all give someone facts as to why to disagree rather than just a personal slam.  i can only respect a person who gives an opinion with facts rather than continually trying to attack another as i tried to stand up for you.

Jimmeah Cotta was by far the worst President the U.S. has ever had.

20% Mortgage rates, gas crisis, buying gas on odd or even days, his ethanol plan, rolling over to kiss Iran's ass, Billy & his beer....I could go on and on.

Call your wimpy little ex-President off of his low-life attacks on our current sitting President, President Bush, and then I might think about it. Sound fair enough? Until then, that doddering old fool is fair game.

So what will Bush's epitaph be........... say in 50 years what will be his world legacy?
"he came he saw he bungled" ............
lone gunslinger walking onto world stage, "go ahead mohamad make my day....."

a visionary who saw that a global conflct was comming and decided that he could choose where and when to start it

Sanity,
Bush has tried to abuse every law.  He has made wiretaps legal.  Infringements on personal rights.  Bush has basically said he is above the law.  i don't believe any other president has tried to invoke those rights.  Look at the latest mess with Gonzales try to strong arm others.  Those are facts.  If you want to deride another, don't speak in generalities but specifics.  As i said i tried to defend you.  If we want to attack another group, it isn't personal it is based on certain beliefs and we can expound on them

Termyn8or -> RE: President Jimmy Carter: Bush's impact "worst in history" (5/19/2007 9:31:33 PM)

The Shah of Iran spent a goodly amount of money to help get Carter elected. As such he refused to return the butcher to his home for justice. Revolutionaries in Iran took the power. As a result the US suppoorted regime(s) in Iraq to counter this. How dare they ask for extradition from us ?

Even Jinny's hands are not clean, but he was nothing like what we got now. I mean really.

They are all cut of the same cloth, tear it off and let it go down into the furnace.
