I have a very teasing nature.Sometimes when playful I tend to call people cutesy names as a way of showing affection. With that being said, what say you Dominants? Would you find in disrespectful to say being called... umm..Pookie Butt? or Kissy Pot Pie?Or would you accept it in the manner for which it was delivered? Would you laugh with delight? Or be offended and punish?...Tempting

I am personally adhored by any goofy names, take any offensive to being referenced with anything that doesnt make me out to be a super bad ass like, lets say, bunny rabbits, and firmly beleive that all dominants should only be referenced with serious names and titles like SirStickInTheAss.

I don't think I'd be offended but I'd certainly look at you as if you lost your marbles.  I would not like to be called any of those names personally though endearments are fine by me.  They just have to be endearments that fit me.  Mine calls me my name, Mistress, baby, sugar, lover...all kinds of things.  I like it.  If pookie butt ever came out, though I would make sure that one did not stick. :P

Once in a cute moment I referred to Master as my Panda Bear. He thought it was cute; the pet name has stuck for some time. It's the same as when he calls me subbie. We're just playin'.

Context is everything when it comes to such things. Teasing banter definatly has its place, I don't take on doormats and all My girls have had functional senses of humour (Never quite as warped as Mine though *g*) and I've been called all manner of things. "Total and utter bastard" seems most frequent and "Domly old Dinosaur" was rather memorable.

My responce can be anything from laughing along with her or dragging her over My knee for a playful spanking.... If however it was done in an innapropriate manner or at an inapropriate time My responce would be quite diffrent..... luckaly I don't DO brats either and such occurances are extreamly rare.

It would and will never happen with us. I find those kind of cutsy  words to be highly offensive. She's property; cattle. She is not a cherished petal that gets special treatment simply because I call her mine. Only two addresses are acceptable from her to me; Master or Sir. Nothing else.

I am very funny about cutesy names...nicknames are another story.  I don't want to be called or call anyone something cutesy like pookie butt.

If someone I care about calls me hon or darlin' I'm not going to get all upset. If my slave calls me something like that I will probably correct him, but not get bent out of shape.  In a "silly" manner is always acceptable....I enjoy play and silly banter with those I love.  My husband has always called me "Babe".  No one else does or will.

I will get upset when someone I don't know (regardless of the forum....grocery store, bar, fetish club, dungeon) calls me dear, honey etc.  I firmly believe if you don't know me, then you don't have a right to call me a "term of endearment".  Who knows...I may not be all that endearing, anyway.

Hope this helps, sugarpiesweetielipsmuffletush. *S*

Not to hijack this thread or anything, but I think the bigger issue here is WHY someone would choose to be owned by a Master OR a Mistress that considers them to be "cattle." That is what is absolutely DISRESPECFTUL in my opinion and I wonder how a sub or slave could even have respect for a Master like that in the first place. I certainly wouldn't. In my opinion, a slave IS to be "cherished, adored or whatever you want to call it." If you have that sort of closeness with them, why not have some sort of "pet names" for each other. Then again, that is up to the two individuals involved.

Furthermore, I also think that the poster KNEW he was going to get some responses like this when he posted it. He probably wanted to "create a stir."

um... girls who love being thought of as cattle are going to want to be owned by someone who thinks they're cattle, and everyone else will stay away... so not sure what needs to be fixed there.

as for names, my favorite was when I got mad at my dom and yelled "you're a Weirdo Beardo!"
well he was silent for a moment during which I shrank back but next thing he's rolling with laughter... the moral is "All's well that ends in the well".

why would you care what kind of names they have for each other? perhaps she likes being referred to that way?

Not everyone is after an all sweet, romantic, flowers and sweet talk relattionship. Just becuase it is not your cup of tea, does not in any way diminish what they or anyone else has.

I completely and totally do not live my life the way Alex does.  Having said this, I disagree with you.  We all have our wants and needs.  They have their life, you have yours, I have mine.  As long as no one is harmed then leave well enough alone.  (being called cattle and property doesn't mean harm necessarily)

And see above for my take on the real thread here...*S*

You might not want that.  I guarantee you there are plenty who do.  If I had a dime for all the emails I've received wanting just that, I'd retire. ;)

You are entitled to believed anything you wish. If you find it distasteful, then by all means, never seek that kind of relationship with another.

In regards to why I posted here. Your assumption that I wish to cause a stir is just that. An assumption. I leave it to you to decide if you are correct or not.

Live well

I just get the funny look whenever I call Master anything other than Master.  He's corrected me a time or two but nothing major.

Becuase there is no "one true way" (except for my one obviously)

BDSM does have a strong Ying Yang element
Powerful people like to be humbled. Introverts like to be intimate. The strong like to be helplessly restrained. Celebrities seek the anonymity of a hood or mask.

Everyone is different
Just as vanilla relationships range from stable, long term, suburban relationships with 2.4 children (bloody thalidomide), to the toilet cubicle hook-ups with random strangers, in clubs so dodgy, you need to check inside your underpants before you know your own name and sex.

Kink relationships also range in their desired levels of respect. Some subbies like to be respected, others don’t. Some like to be used, others abused.

Even taking the subject literally. I suspect if you asked the internet the right way, you could probably find at least one person who would like to spend at least a day or two, naked on their knees in an open paddock. Their only highlight for the whole day being a "milking" and maybe their farmer-de-jours elbows length glove(s).
Knowing stressed city types, you claim its vanilla “rural therapy” and charge them for the privilege.
