Originally I wasn't going to reply to this post.  However, the more I read it, the more it annoyed Me.  So, I'm going to try and be diplomatic.
pixel, I know you are trying to help and offer your best advice.

I have some queries though:
a) What makes you think a product designed for African-American men would work on Me?
b) You chose to answer My OP from a racial point of view  Pixel was not being "racial".  ... I must respectfully ask...why?  Others did not...only you did...I'm just curious as to why.

Doctors now say powder is one of the worst things you can use near a vagina as it locks moisture against the skin.  Sure it smells & feels nice, but it's really not good for a part of the body as moist as the vagina/pubic area. Second, Kara, never once did pixel tell you to coat your vagina with powder.  He stated VERY clearly that you MIX it WITH WATER to create a PASTE.

~Kara

What? Huh?

First of all, Kara....There is a phenominon in people of color called "keloids" which occur often on men who shave their faces.  Simply stated they are scars caused by shaving and they leave larger bumps and lumps making it nearly impossible for a man to shave anymore so if he chooses to have a hairless face he needs a different product.  Keloids are not something that occur ONLY in darker pigmented skin, anyone can get them, however because the occurance is more prevelant in black skin, the cosmetic companies created a wonderful thing to help these men (this is the product to which pixel referred).

You should have stuck with your gut and not replied because now you just look like you can't comprehend a well written post.

And to BBBTBW:  "Stereotyping that all/most black men have bad skin and keloids blah blah blah. I tell you something the black men, and men of colour that I have experienced have the smoothest skin I have found, flawless, freckless and moleless lol. There is a phenominon in people of color called "keloids" which occur often on men who shave their faces.  Never once did I imply ALL.

I still maintain the OP didn't get it.  Should I have said she appeared not to comprehend? maybe.  But that's life.

My current playmate and I are considering shaving off all My pubic hair.  I'm not so keen to do it since the Goddess put it there for a reason, and I'm so afraid it'll look ghastly without hair.  I'm also very concerned about razor bumps, itchiness and butterfingers...I am liable to freak out completely if I get cut.

Having said that I know some men appreciate a shaved pussy and prefer feasting upon one that has been relieved of its hair.

But I'm still skeptical!!!

In your experience, has this worked for you?  And do you have any advice on technique and keeping razor bumps/itch away?

With kind regard,
~Kara

You will never go back to a hairy pubic area again. The sensitivity level  when being intimate is beyond explanation.

Keep it short always and enjoy a good waxing sometimes. Your world is about to become much funner.

... I shave it daily with a triple blade razor. If you do it everyday it only takes a minute or so to keep up with it.  It comes out so soft and baby-smooth.

You won't be able to keep your hands off of it.  ;)

The only thing else I can say is to enjoy the feel and give your skin some time to adjust before you engage in activities that apply a lot of friction to it.  Powder to keep yourself dry afterward can be useful too!

Ok everyone back down.....geeesh!  First of all Karamel, it's likely that pixel just wanted you to know where to look for this product (which i have often found in the "black" section of the store). I'm sure he meant nothing by it.

But everyone give her a breakk? She said a racial, not racist POV, k?  Her sensitivity showing perhaps, nbd.  BUT pixel did suggest powdering the area afterwards, which is i think what she objected to. I ALSO object to this. Extra moistuizing after shaving and keeping clean is all i've ver needed and i have extremely sensitive skin. I now wanna try this product!  Now i shave, regular Venus with Pantene hair conditioner. You can buy coochy creme for that area, but it's the same as the condition and ALOT cheaper!

Edited because yahoo made me lose a bit that helped it make a little sense

Kara,

when I read the post above I did a double take and went back to the post pixel did.  I completely missed he suggested powder at the very bottom.  I had origionally read that you mean the product was a powder.  I am completely wrong and I'm the one who can't read.  My apologies on that regard.

pixel, I know you are trying to help and offer your best advice.

I have some queries though:
a) What makes you think a product designed for African-American men would work on Me?

b) You chose to answer My OP from a racial point of view... I must respectfully ask...why?  Others did not...only you did...I'm just curious as to why.

There was no racial motivation or implication ever intended in my response.  The product works fairly well on me, although I prefer a razor and do not shave my pubic patch.  I have also applied it to a former Mistress on numerous occasions.  It seemed to work well on her, although we both had our problems with irritation that would eventually occur after a few days when it came to our pubic patches (thus the reason I keep mine trimmed instead of shaved).

No offense was at all intended.  I was merely sharing my knowledge of the origin of the product.  I am not racially motivated and never have been.  I've raised my unmentionables to be "color blind" and am proud that they make no distinction in that regard when choosing their friends.

Like any other product on the market, it's possible that you'll discover it may or may not suit you regardless of your racial background which was of no consideration to me when I recommended the product.  It was highly recommended to me a number of years ago on a mailing list that I subscribed to.  In fact, there's a partially used can of it underneath the sink in my bathroom that I checked to make certain I had the name correct before I posted!

In my experience, moisture can irritate freshly shaved or depilated skin, particularly in the pubic patch above the penis or vagina (the latter per experience with a former Mistress).  Powder, particularly the kind made from corn starch, as that would be what I'd recommend instead of talcum (I strongly suspect talcum powder is what the doctors are referring to), can help absorb any moisture that appears, keeping the skin smooth, and help avoid any rashes from occurring particularly if you have sensitive skin as I do.

Moisture in the area above the crotch was what I was primarily intending to refer to.  My apologies for not being more specific.  There's often too many details or too much information that exists to try and convey it all at once, especially when time is limited while one is trying to compose a post that is helpful to others.

I hope I've answered your questions to your satisfaction.

I use Nair with baby oil - I think that, and the Aloe Vera product, are the most sensitive for my skin. I like the feel of a nice smooth area, and I've found that I like the look of it too. So, I'm all for it.

Cheers,
MR.

No. It's never worked out for me, and we've been careful, did the brand new razor thing did the soak the hair thing, to me it's just not worth the effort for the limitd results. I would be smooth for like a day then the stubble would start then the itching and the burning and the pain and the irritation of it growing back. No, Shaving was never worth it.

Now see I was contimplating waxing, but after developing skin conditions in my eyebrows,  and the spot between them, specifically, seborhic dermatitus after getting waxing at a beuty salon, I am worried that waxing the genitals will cause long term problems like the eyebrow waxing did.

There are many reasons for shaved or unshaved. As a sub, some Dommes I have served prefer that I am shaved on the genitals, butt and back so they can enjoy cbt,  wax and fire play.
