This is for all the Ladies and the subs who visit the Ask a Mistress forum...I'd love some input please.

My current playmate and I are considering shaving off all My pubic hair.  I'm not so keen to do it since the Goddess put it there for a reason, and I'm so afraid it'll look ghastly without hair.  I'm also very concerned about razor bumps, itchiness and butterfingers...I am liable to freak out completely if I get cut.

Having said that I know some men appreciate a shaved pussy and prefer feasting upon one that has been relieved of its hair.

But I'm still skeptical!!!

In your experience, has this worked for you?  And do you have any advice on technique and keeping razor bumps/itch away?

With kind regard,
~Kara

I use a product called Veet for sensitive skin. I have no problems with razor bumps or harsh stubble. Plus it grows in slower and softer than shaving. I love the feel of it when it's bare. Plus I find with less hair there is less odor.

I started shaving "it" about 7 or 8 years ago.  I can't remember what ever posessed me to try it, but it felt so weird the first time I saw it all bald.  It reminded me of a plucked chicken.  But I liked not having the hair there.  After a little while you get used to it and the skin sensitivity goes away (it did for me anyway) Now I love it clean-shaven.  I can't imagine going back to being hairy.  I shave it daily with a triple blade razor. If you do it everyday it only takes a minute or so to keep up with it.  It comes out so soft and baby-smooth.  You won't be able to keep your hands off of it.  ;)

If you're skittish about shaving, you can use a trimmer to get a very short ad uniform cut.  I've shaved my hair before and there was itching and razor burn, but I'm a man and I didn't moisturize after.  Live and learn. It won't look awkward shaved, but it might be an uncomfortable feeling, at least the first time.

If you get in to the habit of shaving regularly you will find you do not get razor bumps or itching.  I find keeping mostly shaved allows more contact and clitoral stimulation.  (I keep a "landing strip" of hair.)
I have a routine of soaping up with cool water, a shaving brush and bar shaving soap.  I use a Venus razor, and shave every second or third day depending on mood and growth. Post shave, rinse with warm water and pat dry. Having your partner do the shaving for you may be easier since they can see all the angles and areas that may be hard for you to reach on your own.
Until you get used to being shaved it's probably best to avoid anything like warming oils or flavoured lubes as they can be irritating to sensitive skin.

I used to shave, I loved it.  Now I wax it off, and I like that even better than shaving.  And I agree with an earlier person's comment ... after awhile the sensitivity wears off and if you keep up a consistent pattern I find there isn't a lot of bumps, ingrown hair, rashes, etc.

As for input about how it would look, I think shaved looks neater and prettier. And I think it both looks and feels more hygenic.

I trim or shave my pubic hair somewhat regularly and have not had difficulty with it.

Cheers,

Sea

Greetings

i cannot use Veet or anything like that (even the sensitive skin formula) as it burns my skin, so i just use a shaver. i found one that works out very well for me. It's the Shick Intuition Plus. What i like about it is it has a ring of soap around the blades, and i don't have to soap up first. It's gentle and has several varieties, including sensitive skin, one with vitamin E, and others. It doesn't end up giving me razor burn like some others have, and the part about not having to soap up first is a plus. It does the soaping up as you're shaving.

Good luck and please let us know how it goes.

Well wishes

Kara,
Numerous women I've been with in the past, just shaved their labia on each side and then trimmed the pubic hair above with an electric razor.  I found this to leave them fully exposed and pleasing to me.  This might be a good way for you to start.

Rather than actually shaving, you may also want to try a product called "Majic Shaving Powder", which is a powdery product (comes in a can) that was developed for black men with rough skin who had difficulty using razor blades to shave.  It is mixed with water into a paste then applied to the skin for a limited number of minutes accoding to the directions on the container, then removed (a spatula works well with it as I recall).  It's very effective for most, although it does have something of a sulphur odor to it at the time of use.  If left on too long it does begin to burn, just as any delapitory cream would.  It may be worth trying to see if it works for you.

As others have noted, the longer you keep your pubic area shaved or the hair removed, the less sensitive it generally becomes.  As to your fear of cutting yourself while shaving, this disappears with practice and experience.  I regularly shave my scrotum in the shower simply by feel, without hardly looking, and don't cut myself in the process.

By all means, please have your sub do the work for you!  It's something you'll both enjoy.  As a tip, it greatly helps to use clippers or scissors to remove most of the longer hair first before you move on to using a razor or any delapitories.  Having a bowl of water handy to keep the razor clean, a towel, a wash cloth, plus a depends to lay on & collect any spills also helps.

The only thing else I can say is to enjoy the feel and give your skin some time to adjust before you engage in activities that apply a lot of friction to it.  Powder to keep yourself dry afterward can be useful too!

I started shaving years ago and now it's simply an every other day occurance. If you're worried about razor bumps there is a product by Skintimates specifically for after shaving that cools any burning and helps prevent ingrown hairs and bumps. With regular upkeep you won't have to worry about it. Make sure to use a fresh new razor the first time. Trim the length down quite a bit and go slowly. I prefer to use Ivory soap personally rather than a shaving cream or gel due to skin sensitivity.

Above all have fun with it and experiment with what you prefer. Try shaving, or a depilatory or even wax. Although waxing was rather painful for me the first time it was tried. I'll stick with shaving. I prefer to give pain rather than receive it.

Ooo the odour and natural scent is the most sensual, intoxicating scent in the world, I think

Use a good hair conditioner to shave with, works wonderful for legs and other areas too.

Always use a new blade for every shave, works wonders!

What he said.......... Normally the mixture is left on for no more than seven minutes. It works very well

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I agree with MistressRouge, I love the natural scent too.
However I do want to try different things with My new playmate.  I will search for the Veet, that sounds better than shaving/sulphur to Me!

Stay tuned! hehe

Originally I wasn't going to reply to this post.  However, the more I read it, the more it annoyed Me.  So, I'm going to try and be diplomatic.
pixel, I know you are trying to help and offer your best advice.

I have some queries though:
a) What makes you think a product designed for African-American men would work on Me?
b) You chose to answer My OP from a racial point of view... I must respectfully ask...why?  Others did not...only you did...I'm just curious as to why.

Doctors now say powder is one of the worst things you can use near a vagina as it locks moisture against the skin.  Sure it smells & feels nice, but it's really not good for a part of the body as moist as the vagina/pubic area.

I just LOVE the sensitive feel when my, uh, umm, how did Oprah put it? My "veejayjay" is bare and smooth!

I am NOT very fond of the way it itches growing out.

Sometimes I stay shaved, sometimes I stay in a Brazilian bikini trim because I love the look.

All depends.

Try it, it always grows back!
