I was writing a story about 7 years ago and I wanted to research what I was writing. So I created a profile and found myself shocked and appalled at the sheer number of, emotional-basket-case, or Just-Add-Clue-For-Life sorts of people who wrote that profile emails. Did give me substantial insight into the world as viewed by female submissives online.

I have apologized before (on here even) for doing so, but writers take tours through other people's lives (Harlan Ellison) and I had a character to develop.

It makes me wonder at a person's self image that other people not responding to their emails would alter their emotional (upset them, anger them, make them all weepy, whatever) state.

Just me, etc.

While I am sure it is against the TOS, there are so many clearly fake profiles clearly nobody is looking or caring.

You're wrong. They care, they're just swamped. The more people who use the 'Report Profile' function, the more it helps.

I reported a profile for mentioning bestiality, and it was pulled.

A few days later a new profile - same photo - also talking about bestiality was posted. I had to report it four times over the space of a month before it too was pulled.
