I'm soooo not into flip-flops. Not only does the fob between the toes irritate me ( I absolutely abhor anything between my toes ), but damn it if when I walk the flipping things don't try to step out sideways on me so I wind up with my heel hitting the ground anyway. I always have to practically cramp my toes, just to hold the stupid things in one spot on my foot. So, therefore, flip-flops get a big thumbs down.
Birck's or even like those lil black chinese slip-on shoes... Can't remember what they're called. In any case, yeah, I don't mind like a strap sandal... low-top, not all the way up my calf... But Ixnay on the lip-flop-fay, thanks.[:'(]
As to the OT (original topic, as it's interesting to share, but I don't really wanna talk to the "OP"), I like my girl's barefoot, but only indoors, or in "natural environments" that I've investigated and deemed to be appropriate to their safety and well being. Beaches, grassy parks ( I personally love the feel of grass on my feet right after it's been sprinkled, or early morning just as it's warming up and still has dew on the surface...), or even in relatively clear wooded areas, that don't have a lot of bodily dangers about, such as sharp rocks, or thorny bushes or trees with jagged bark or broken branches... It's best if the ground is more of a solid, but softer composition...
I hate the "blackfoot" syndrome from walking barefoot in the city. I'm from Sacramento, and while there's a lot of places there that can be utilized barefoot, there are more dangers. Temperatures be damned, that is hardly the issue in the central valley area, really. As slaverosebeauty had pointed out.
I love being barefoot though, when I'm afforded the opportunity. Studying martial arts gives me a lot of that opportunity, but I haven't been able to really indulge in that favourite endeavor in quite sometime, being some 6 hours south of my regular sparring partner at the moment. *shrugs*
But I prefer my girls are in heels or a cute pair of tennies or sandals, and if not, then barefoot... But only under the conditions I stated above.
