The pig wasn't exactly a pet in the way most people use the word pet, although it had been raised on a farm. The kid who shot the pig also had no idea that the pig had been raised in a domestic setting.

The kid also did not give chase for 3 hours. The whole event did happen, but how it happened was fabricated.
