Lovely thread.

Just some general thoughts: I really doubt its human nature to cut others down in order to feel superior, as several have indicated. Every time I see a comment like this, it makes me want to cry. I can pretty much garundamntee that there's no gene for pettiness.

Most of the time, the trouble with these kinds of threads that you're commenting on is card stacking/question begging. The op is phrased in such a way that posters are led to agree with it because the conclusion is built into the premises and the opposing view is presented in a negative light. (The old 'have you stopped beating your wife' trick or 'why can't these subs grow up' trick) I just try to avoid these threads because presenting a credible argument in favor of the opposing view is just too difficult and I suspect futile because it seems to me as if the op had already made up his or her mind and isn't really open to alternative views.

My kink is a clique thats dissed all the time. I happen to like leather. And labels. And rules. And the scene. And following directions. And ceding huge amounts of personal autonomy to guys who strike my fancy. But that's me. What other people do isn't really my business although I like hearing about it because I can always learn something and maybe add to my collection of kinks.

I dunno.

Oh, we all take advantage now and then of the adolescent rage of the Angry Pack and the Honorary Angry Pack, who make up a MOST munificent demographic on CM. We seek affirmation by logic, humor, outrageousness or pedantically posting. Haha, look at this thread if you don’t believe it.

Frankly, I don’t see others often saying their kink is better, but I do see criticism of certain kinks. In particular, the two usually slammed are mentors and online relationships. Mentoring I think usually ends up in manipulation while online can work great for those who write well and intend to go RT eventually. Okay, I criticized a kink, if you notice.
So I am 1 for 2 on those issues in the game of accepting all kink, but that is just me and I could never connect with some pitches. Another baseball analogy and fitting after the Cubs’ fight is that I try not to show others up when I see they are obsessed, angry and frustrated by lack of acceptance or success for whatever reason. Tis all a game, ya know.

noah you made and interesting point, that reminds me of a story.

did you ever hear of the fable of the old king that calls both the happiest man in the his court and the unhappiest man in the his court before him and says to each....

the the happy man, the king says: i want you to scour all my lands from top to bottom and find me a an evil and vengful man.

to the unhappy many he says i would like you to scour all my lands from top to bottom and find for me a kind and honest man.

well they take off and interview every man woman and child because even though the king used the word man they knew it was only because he was talking in old fashioned king launguage but he really meant person.

after 3 years, they drag their road weary bodys to the castle and before the good old and wise kings throne.

first he says to the the grumpy man: you bring me no one?

grumpy unhappy man scowls, Sir i i have looked into the hearts off all your loyal subjects, i have interveiwed them at great lenth, and and very sorry to say, there is not a single man in your whole kingdom that is good, honest and true.

i honestly dont see the oneupsmanship you all are seeing, so these threads perplex me, my comment was simply a comment about differing forms of masturbation, but i never said that masturabation is wrong or bad just sticky....and its true...its very sticky....at least the way i do it.
