I am of the opinion that you should wear what you want to wear.

I am of the school that likes the way necklaces and chokers look.  I once wore a short leather necklace with a Celtic knot on it, symbolizing the bends and twists that lead to a deeper relationship.  The submissive that gave it to me did not own me, she was owned by me.  She gave it to me to symbolize what I noted and because she liked the way men look in necklaces.

As noted, I like the fashion of chokers and necklaces.  That is one reason I loved the late 60's and early 70's.  I had chokers and loved them.  I had a gold necklace with a beautiful Ankh symbol and I had a puka shell choker...and others.  Hell, I even had...gulp...an Angel Flight leisure suit (There!...I finally admitted it)...but I digress.

Wear what you want and be comfortable.  The collar of ownership you wear one day may look exactly the same as the one you wear in these photos...but I guarantee you that it will FEEL a hell of a lot different and symbolize something else entirely.

collars ARE sexy! and there are many different types as well as uses.. I say wear one if you want to..

Status: offline 		Just my honest opinion, but I feel there are two collars. One for play ( or fashion ) and one that is "Sacred" as you put it. In older days a wristband on a Dom's wrist signified his position and a subs collar signified theirs as well, with a wish to have the "sacred " one bestowed upon them. In some circles, anyway.

Again, just my nickel ( inflation from 2 cents) but any Dom or Master who is in any way "serious" about their craft would not simply stop at their first superficial impression of a sub with a collar, they would ask about it * wink*

Status: offline 		This post reminded me of a time when i used to chat in yahoo.  i have never been collared,but one night i was being very very silly and had just purchased a 'choker' type necklace.  The room has a 'collaring' ceremony for me (i collared myself).  It was quite a night!  Thanks for the memory. ;)

While I have done the leather collar thing for playtime, there is something I do which I find a lot hotter and more sexy for every day wear as a collar.

I buy her a solid gold waist chain to wear.  It is under the clothes at work.  It hangs enticingly on her hips in her bathing suit.  It turns me on to play with it while I am using her.

It serves as a reminder for her that I am always there with her, encircling her in my care and control, when she is not near me to hold in my arms.

Yummy.

Status: offline 		i wore a very nice studded collar before i met my owner. it was puery fashion (very HOT) . but i fell inlove with the simple black hartz training collar Master put on me. I have a public collar in silver and a ver nice bucke leather for intimacy. i have to have one or the other or i feel naked.i dont have to wear 24/7 , but i just love the feel and the physical reminder that i am owned desired and cherised. i am collared by his will, so even without one i have no doubt i am his slave .but look below i have been using this for a few days.and totally mean it.
