This is such a load of doo-doo....These "kids" might have gone to high school together...If they are so concerned about the possible fraternizations between kids of certain ages than it would only make sense for the backwards state of Georgia to not allow them to occupy the same space and create seperate schools for these kids.....

Why stop there? The only way to protect our precious progeny is to turn them over to 'nanny' from day one. Obviously many belief the State knows better anyway. This way, in one generation, we'll have a totally 'PC' society as intended by the laws and regulations currently in place but obviously not effective.

Every state seems to have its own take on this age of consent thing. In my state 16 is legal, 15 is not. If the age difference is also at least three years, its good for 4 years to life instead of 2 years to life. Still a felony, even if one is 15 and the other is 16. Presumably, its a felony for both if both are under 16, although its up to the prosecutor to decide whether to prosecute anyone under 18 as an adult or as a juvenile, in which case the penalty can be minimal. It is also a defense that the person reasonably believed that the "victim" was over 16. The person who took the video would have been in line for the 4-year minimum penalty, for "sexual abuse of children". So, now the kid has served two years, the law has changed, everyone but the prosecutor seems to think he should get out. We've seen pictures of the kid. He is black. Was the girl black, or white? Seems to me this is something that matters in certain places. Georgia is probably one of those places.

Yep. In High school I dated within a year of my own age....But it amazes me how quickly or maybe gladly people forget what it was like to be young and dumb.

the Great State of California was one of the first states to raise the age of consent. It raised it from ten to fourteen in 1889 and then from fourteen to sixteen in 1897. Then, in 1913, California again raised it from sixteen to eighteen. On a related note, California minors of ANY age can consent to medical treatment of pregnancy, obtain contraception and consent to an abortion, with the health care provider under strict rules NOT to inform parents without the minor's consent.

just my two cents but... since i am 18 this could.. effect me if i do something with a underage. highly unlikly but u never know. i believe that he was wrong to have it taped, yes, i believe he was wrong in having her do it, yes. but i do not believe that he deserved however many years in jail because he got a bj from a girl of 15. considering that if they had "gone all the way" hed only have gotten 1 yeah i think it is. the US judicial system is so fucked up that the lil things get more punishment then the big things. if ur going to punish a 17 year old guy for getting head from a 15 year old.. what about the 15 year olds that fuck other 15 year olds? what do u do with them?? and y dont u teach kid, wether they r yours or not, some commen sense and how to deal with there sex drives. ok.. that venting is done.. on to more. and it said she was drunk.. do u see anything about her being an underage drinker?
