i find it quicker to drive to say Chicago- so I have not been in flight other then da good pillz. since. My whole family has been on flights and no noteable events were shared- except mom said detroits airport is too big.

my cousin had trouble getting back into the us per 9-11. he blew up the toilet in high school years ago. so he has a record.

i always ask what airline a loved one will fly on a trip - that way if i hear plane crash- if i know the airline- i can say no they took the other carrier.

First time we flew post 9-11 was OK, on flight back was the most entertaining flight we have ever experienced, the stewards were telling jokes, sang & danced at the end of the flight, had everyone in stitches and received applause after touchdown, not sure if that was for the safe landing or the entertaining stewards, lol.

Last spring we (and all of family) flew to Vegas, everything was fine going out there, coming back we found out that there was NOT a seat for spouse, I thought that was funny, as did my family - spouse did NOT.

Spouse got irritated that i found it funny and got the giggles. Just as we (the rest of us) were boarding, there was a volunteer giving up seat for him, darn!

Last summer I flew across state & back, no water or nuts due to turbulence & someone allergic to nuts. Good thing I brought my own water & snacks. That won't happen next month when I fly again, since no liquids on plane.

I have no problem flying, tons of internet specials, the only problem is bratty um's that parents bring

, too bad they couldn't check them in as luggage *sigh*

I flew in December afterward and had the suitcase check guy in NC become quite flustered when he picked up my vibrator and took about 3 seconds for it to register what it was, drop it and then move on.

Since then I've flown probably a half a dozen times- nothing really seriously of note happened since then except the annoyances of other passengers ignoring EVERY poster or warning AND the guards shouting what to expect and holding up the line and being stuck on tarmac for a few hours sometimes.

Merc: What can I say? There's just no justice in the world.

......going from New Orleans to Dallas on the first thanksgiving after 9/11 i was stopped and searched 5 times.......and that was before i got on the first plane......

before there was flack for doing this but having a large breast size did get me pulled out of line for a pat down by airport security (because of the wire in the bras)

Oh geesh! I have very large busted friend who got pulled out of line and inspected with a wand by a female security officer because of the underwire in her bra. She was standing to the side in front of other passengers and told to raise her arms. Her boyfriend thought this terribly funny. She was terribly embarrassed!

TSA agent repeatedly banged my um's nebulizer (critical for dispensing his asthma medication) on a table in the vain hope of trying to open it up (it doesn't open). When I mentioned it to the agent, he responded "They ALL open up somehow". My response: "Only after you BREAK it!" He basically told me to shut up and then we both stood there fuming at each other until a supervisor ambled over, asked if it was a nebulizer, then told the guy to let me go.

You can take liquids on the plane but it most be purchased airside, which means once you pass security.

This is why when i go to vegas all the toys are getting put in my big piece of luggage though it would be more fun for me to watch them imspect the floggers, paddles, vibes and other toys while i stand there dressed like a damn school girl

This was suggest by the way by my vegas Daddy. I then told him he was off his rocker. still leaving from maine where 60-70% of the population seem to have a giant oak up their that would give me some good laughs.

Just got back from Disney World. Security seemed to be smooth enough to me, went smoothly both times. Only notable exceptions were my father-in-law's knees, he had them replaced a couple of years ago and they always set off the alarms. My husband got his lighter taken away from him, but the security lady was nice enough to replace it with a book of matches. What I found most annoying was having to remove my shoes before going through security....the thought of how dirty the floors are and all the nasty feet that have traveled through there

On the return trip the look on the guard's face as he viewed my daughters Jasmine custom was priceless. The top had a fringe made from very real looking coins. The guard said "Oh, crap, here we go." But the coins were plastic and did not set off any alarms.

I've flown at least a dozen times since 9/11 and EVERY time I have flown I have been pulled out, patted down and carryons checked. Mind you I never fly with anything circumspect (toys, cuffs, implements of torture) and I have never had the detectors go off when I've walked through them. I always wear flat tennies with a pair of heels in my carryon to change into after landing. Yet, somehow I am always the chosen one to get the "treatment". I suppose a 40 yr old 5'3 blonde woman looks like someone that would be a danger to society in some way.

The worst one was when my UM's father died and I had to get back to IL as quickly as possible. I ended up having to take a flight with 2 stops and 2 plane changes with a 2 hour or more layover at each. A nightmare trip to begin with but add in that at each stop I was pulled out of line and searched. By the third time in a 12 hour period I burst into tears. The TSA/security people escorted me to a room to question me why I was being so overly "emotional" about a routine stop in a not very friendly way. They were not at all sympathetic to the purpose of my trip. In fact, they didn't believe me in the least, despite my offering them my cell phone v/m to confirm numerous conversations about the situation between various family members. I fully admit to getting more than a bit "hostile" with the situation. They implied that a strip search was in the offing and I dialed my attorney. While they did back off on the strip search they did detain me long enough for me to miss my connecting flight into St. Louis. Ugh, I will never ever fly through Denver again, ever.

My father flew up from Florida to Michigan last week, he had to hand over his money clip while going thru security. Lo and behold when he got his money clip back it was missing $1500.00. Of course it simply couldn't have been one of those well trained high-caliber federal employees right?

My owner flies several times a month, I fly every 4-5 weeks. We fly out of LGB, SNA and LAX routinely and into Chicago, Boston, Dallas and Miami. My owner has rarely had a bad experience, except the occasional delayed flight. I have had a few moments of wanting to exit the plane at 34,000 feet. I was flying back from Miami on a Sunday night and had some seriously drunk people sitting behind me and they drank the whole flight back, getting more and more obnoxious..then as we were de-planing they got into a fist fight..in the plane.

I have had a handful of cancelled flights, delayed flights, funky lights on in the cockpit and delays related to that.

I have had to go through extra checks but I dress light, wear slip on shoes,check my liquids, have my laptop ready to go and usually sail through security.

YUCK! I dislike that part the most!

The first time I had sneakers & socks, I was livid about my socks getting dirty so I never wore anything but flip flops since while flying.
