Actually I am just relating the story as is, or as my memory serves. I am also showing that there is more than one side to anything. Sometimes a feel good story is just that, not some nefarious conspiracy.

After the assistance they gave Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell, et. al. in depriving The People and Congress of their lawful duty in providing oversight? The Media doesn't enjoy enough credibility to get the benefit of the doubt.

Sure you can. Just start undoing alot of the things that created the monster. Say you can't means you won't.

The news is entertainment. If you see something on it, then do your own research. I suggest you take a trip to Iraq and see how things really are, and then report back to us.

Don't misunderestimate the propaganda value of what you dismiss as "Entertainment".

I won't beg the Feds for Permission to go anywhere.

Passports are for Slaves.

And going on a junket isn't worth wetbacking borders for, is it?

farglebargle,

Is there anything that you personally do to help others or to help change things?

You rail about the awfulness of so much that I can't help but wonder if you actually do anything aside from typing. There is a lot of energy in your posts that possibly could be used in other ways.

Do you have concrete suggestions for change?

Local Food Banks.

They can also act as Armories for The People.

*EVERYTHING* that's screwed up about America ( and by extension, America's Toilet -- The Rest of the World ) is due to the extra-constitutional expansion of Federal Authority.

Until that's resolved, discussing how to fix things essentially caused BY IT is pointless, isn't it?

It can be pointless yes, that is why I asked if you do anything. So by typing 'food banks' does that mean that you donate to them? I'm sincerely asking what it is that YOU do to try and help/change things. I'm not trying to rag on you, just trying to get actual answers from you.

Donate, Volunteer for Campaigns, or and Habitat for Humanity doesn't suck either.

( We do co-ordinated things for H4H with the Chamber of Commerce... )

Oh, and REBATE CHECKS.

Endorse 'em and send em onto the food bank, it adds up.

DON'T endorse them and forward IF you're going to use them to offset income BEFORE consulting with your accountant!

We've found ESPECIALLY WITH PRODUCTION, that we need to bill the full day's service to the promoter, get the check FROM THEM, and THEN we cut the check back for the same amount, giving us a paper trail for the full cash value of the donated services...

ONCE AGAIN, spend the 10 minutes on the phone with your accountant before relying on this advice.

I don't endorse conversations with gadflys, or those that consist of continuous rote diatribes and/or sweeping, inaccurate generalizations.

I'm not a fan of having to beg permission to do things. That is, at it's most basic, the definition of a Slave. One who must seek their Masters' permission to do something.

I don't see "Border", "Passport", or "Immigration" in the Constitution, do you?

Damn I actually agree with part of this. The Feds are way too powerful. The power brokers are too far removed from the people.

I posted before on some ways to start fixing it. Maybe farglebargle has some realistic ideas on fixing it.

When you join CM and agree to the TOS you are imply asking permission, and it being granted to post in these boards. Actually the definition of slave is to be owned. You can spin it however you wish.

Privacy is not in the constitution either but it is implied.

Since Privacy is not IN the Constitution, by definition, the Feds have no authority to regulate, or infringe upon it in any way.

I am glad that troops rescued these boys but have to wonder about the conditions inside other orphanages in Iraq.
Will there be as many children in this sort of situation as there were in Romania?
What about the conditions of the refugee camps and the Iraqi civilians who have fled to neighboring countries?
